Location: Gainesville, TX | Meet Ima Slick Texan, aka Tay, by Slick by Design and out of Shawneia. For some reason this filly came out black and we can't figure out why.

I'd take out ads if my babies were like yours to show them off |

She is not really black .... see the inside of her ears ... you will register
her as brown ...
You can blame Shawnee Bug for the dark brown that is almost black ..
later on the flanks, elbow region will not appear to be black ..

Weeeelll, all I can say is she's black to me, and I'd take one of Oija's "black" horses if they were purple. . . They really do it for me |

Location: Texas | My black SBD had brown insides of her ears and she even bleached last summer in her weanling colt. I pulled hairs and sent it to UC Davis and she's homozygous black. Genetics don't lie :).
She is beautiful!!!! My SBD is solid black and if I could have changed anything I would have added some chrome on her face like this one, but that kind of stuff doesn't matter! |

Location: Gainesville, TX | She is black and will be registered as black as most of this dam's babies are. What AQHA terms a 'brown' is actually a dark bay with an extension modifier to darken the hair. Genetically this one is black. Any horse can have faded areas, ears, flank and parts of manes and tails being most common. Trust me when I say she is black and will shed off coal black sometime this fall. |

Location: Where I am happiest | The horse is black!! On another note, I hope you breed that Shawnee Bug daughter to First Moonflash and give the barrel horse industry a heck of a up and comming stallion prospect. If it's a filly, I'll take first in line to purchase. |

Hmm not a bad idea. I was thinking really hard about Roosters Fame. We were going to give her one year off and then breed her again.
Of course, you know we had a stud colt last year out of this mare by Dash ta Fame. We sure think he is pretty special too.
Do you know what First Moonflash's fee is? |

I was wondering this myself about his fee, all I came up with was for 2017 the fee is private, I sure do like him too, he and Ivory James are da bomb.. |

I did some looking and googling and saw another thread on here saying something like $12,500 for First Moonflash, but of course I would have to call to make sure. Walz Performance Horses has that new stallion prospect out of him, First Moon Medley. He is black. Out of a Chicks a Blazin/On a High daughter. |
