I have an older horse that I was wanting to donate to a equine therapy center. Does anybody know any in Oklahoma or Kansas?

DO NOT donate to Reins of Hope in Hutchinson, KS. My mom made the super hard decision to do so with an older mare about a year ago, thinking that she was doing a good thing. Long story short, she took the mare back a couple of months ago. ROH had told my mom that they were having trouble with this mare biting at handlers, so mom started checking in on her. She had been trimmed too short (so that they could trim less frequently) and lame, being ridden by too heavy a rider, which made her need a chiro adjustment, which they did not get for her, so my mom had her guy go do it, and paid for it. Chiro said she needed to be left off for at least two weeks, and 3 days later, mom caught them using her again, for the same heavy rider. The mare was biting because of how much pain she was in. So she told them she was reclaiming her. When she went to get her they had her in a pen with other horses that were not letting her eat or come into the shelter when the weather was bad--from which mom had requested months before that she be moved from.

That poor mare was so glad to be home. She is happy and healthy again. We are learning now of other complaints, and several friends that have volunteered there for years have now quit because of lack of care for the horses.
