I recently bought a bunch of different bits to try out on my new mare. Question--what do you do with the extra curb chain hanging down? I dont want to cut off the slack yet because the bits are new to me and I want the ability to make adjustments, but it's driving me crazy when I rider her and its slinging around on that one side. LOL Maybe wrap it with vet wrap? What do you do?

I would not cut it off either but if it is more than about 3 inches long maybe so, otherwise geta quick link and attach the chain to the bit.

Thanks. The Sweet 6 I tried the other day had a good 3" of slack hanging. I bunched it up to the clip a few times but the jingle song it was making drove my OCD insane! lol

Since you are using a Sweet Six I would loosen the curb and let it hang. The curb is just to keep the shanks from spreading apart.

If it has a quick link on each end I even it up so equal amounts hang off each side. Then either leave it hanging or loop it through the quick link again
