Location: SD | I am looking for honest fly sheet reviews and what everyone uses! My horses are turned out 24/7 on about 30 acres. Living in SD I need something cool (well as cool as they can get), but tough, shoulder gussets are a must. I have bought the cheap Saxon and more expensive Weatherbeeta..and neither even lasted through part of a summer. I have been looking and reading all the reviews..but it's a never ending process. I would rather hear from real people and what they think and what works for them. Thanks! |

Location: North Dakota | My two stay covered all summer with sheets and shoofly leggins. I have been through a few different sheets till I finally landed on some that I really like. My two are turned out 24/7 and have never ruined a sheet. There aren't many trees though which can make it more difficult to keep things from snagging.
So I really like the horseware amigo bug busters. They cover so well and my horses wear them in our 90+ degrees and high humidity days and are never sweaty. They have 95% UV protection and I think them not stomping keeps them cooler than without.
I also like the smartpak deluxe sheets but they don't cover as far down but I have a few on hand for when I want to wash up their main sheets.
If my horse was harder on their clothes they would wear the Rambo Fly Busters. I had those for a year but liked the Amigos better because they were alittle lighter weight and my horses don't need the durability of the Rambos.
I will attach a few pictures.
ETA:

Location: Wonderful Wyoming | I am in WY and we get up in the high 90's low 100's in late July/August for a week or 2. I use Kensington UV protective sheet. Mine are turned out in about 160 acres. This is about yr 3 I have used the same one on my show horse. |

Location: Oklahoma | I personally LOVE the Kensington fly sheets. They are UV rated and hold up. Plus, Kensington's warranty is far above any other company. |

This is also the only one (Amigo Bug Buster with the long sides and neck cover) that lasted me a whole summer. We are going to start summer #2 here pretty soon! There are some tears on the inside to the lining, but the mesh is completely intact. Mine is also turned out 24/7 with 5-6 other horses. Before this one, I was on a streak of fly sheets that either would get destroyed or would twist and just not fit right. |

| I use the AMIGO MIO fly sheets. I live in hot Texas. Horses stay out 24/7. They are never taken off my broodmares. Have held up well. |

Yep! I have to cover one of my horses head to toe and Amigo Bug Buster is the ticket! Especially combined with Shoo Fly's!

| I swear by the Kensington Texteline sheets. I'm in SW Florida and have no problems with these and the heat. They are very durable and last forever. I have one sheet that is going on 5 years old that I use all year and it still looks almost new. I don't like the soft mesh sheets because they trap a lot of heat and don't hold up as well |

Location: Mississippi | I bought a Kensington this year for my black gelding hoping to keep him from fading as bad. So far, it has held up well but we haven't hit the heat and humidity yet so I can't say for sure if I will be able to leave it on him all summer. I do like the fact that I can pull him out of the pasture to ride and not spend half an hour getting all of the mud off  |

This is the second one Ive bought, they did NOT stand behind their warrenty on the first one so I told myself I would not buy another, but ended up finding a good deal on a used one. I personally wouldnt buy another one, only due to the fact that with the stiffness it rubbed on his shoulders and I dont think they're that breathable. |

| Any particular fly sheet that protects the underside of the belly? My poor horse gets eaten up under there. I spray him and I've been using swat but those little Flys are relentless ... he bleeds it's so bad! |

I notice mine has been rubbing the shoulders a little also. I was wondering how it would do in the heat because it is so stiff. Hmm, may need to search for something a little more Mississippi summer friendly - if there is such a thing  |

I have never found any any better than these Amigo Busters. They are the only ones I ever used. |

Mine have never rubbed, but I get one that is plenty big. It would be a disaster if the show horse rubbed his shoulders, and this is all I have used on him since he was 2. |
