does anyone run their horse in a running martingale or training fork? What kind of reins do you use? I have my colt in one and currently use split reins but we are starting to add speed and I am finding that my reins are too long or are in the way.

When I discovered the German Martingale, I quit using the running martingale. Yes, I run in the German martingale. Also I use barrel or roping reins with the German martingale. They have to have rings and THE REINMAN made me aset.

never have, but I would think a pair of leather roping reins would work.  I also prefer the German to the Running.
