Are there any feed mills around you? They might have it. |

Location: Willows, CA | If you are buying your own flax, you are best to buy whole and feed it that way, or grind it as you use it. I would not buy already ground Flax unless it has been stabilized. Un-stabilized ground Flax will be rancid when you buy it. Ground flax is more bioavailable, but, current studies have shown that a properly functioning digestive system will break down whole flax seeds. |

Location: MN | My local feed & seed store carries it in 50lb bags. Lasts me FOREVER as I am down to one horse right now. I am careful how I store the open bag though. |

Location: Alberta, Canada | I had to go to the health food store for whole flax when I fed it. No feed stores in our area carry it. |

Wow! I pay less than half that at the feed store for 50 lbs and flax isn't grown any where close to here. That is why I buy the 50 lbs. because they sometimes don't have any. |

My guess they are saying shipping is free but really not!! They just up the price of the product and say free shipping. It costs about 75.00 to ship a saddle that weighs about 30 pounds. They can either say 20.00 + shipping, or say 114.00 with free shipping. Same money. |

Location: North Dakota | I buy stabilized ground from my Hubbard elevator. (I just recently realized it IS stabilized) which is great my last 50# bag was $32. ( I feed 5 head of horses and store it in a cool dry place) but even if they don't eat it very fast you can probably afford to throw half of it away if you think it's getting old. I recently bought whole flax from a health food store-10# was $28.......I have one picky horse that does not like it ground AT ALL. I love the benefits of flax, but when things are HARD or EXPENSIVE i usually stop doing it. |
