If you're wanting to stay on the strip, when is the ideal time to book? What is the latest we should book to not be stuck with some horrendously expensive?
We're going for our honeymoon but also suffering from post wedding finances at the moment - and halfway incomplete projects at home we'd like to finish.
I don't want to miss the boat, but I'm not sure I want to lay outrage cash right at this very moment either...plus looking for a new job which may affect vacation times.
I can get cheap direct flights pretty much anytime so just worried about the hotel aspect right now.

We book in January for the South Point because they sell out fast because of the roping they have there.
You don't have to lay out a lot of money for a hotel. I've always had them charge the first night and depending on the hotel, some you have to cancel a month a head of time and others are just 24 hours. You need to ask before you book your room.

Thanks - never been to Vegas so not sure how they do it out there! Most travel I've done I've had to pay for it all at reservation...but it's been on the company credit card...
We'll have to nail down some dates and give them a call.

I just booked mine a few weeks ago. Don't wait too long. Most let you cancel free of charge within 48 hours. You can always book and keep looking for better deals.

We have never had to actually pay for a room. The hotels want you to play, so we do. Get a gamblers card at each casino/hotel. Keep up with time & $$$ with that card. They will them comp your stay most times. We stay on strip and downtown. We can call various times, a week or two ahead of visit. Depends on our time frame and what event may be in town. Always fun, most time profitable.
