In Psalm 108:1-13 , the Pslamist was writing from a position of strength and confidence, something not always seen in the Psalms.
David's praise came from a truly sincere place. It appears to burst forth from inside in a rush spontaneous joy. The praise was so enthusiastic and heartfelt that David was looking for a variety of ways to express it: through instruments, in the morning, and among the people. David was also clarifying for the qualitative nature of his praise. His exaltation for God was above that for any human being. It was above the heavens and earth. And it was give against the backdrop of previous deliverances. The psalm culminates with a final request of help and sovereign intervention. The value of the Psalms is not just in their historic significance. They also provide a model for our own praise. Their example provokes another love of praise from us.
Do you share David's enthusiasm for God?
Are you looking for a variety of mediums to express it?
Is your praise specific?
Do you spend time expressing gratitude for what He has already done before you make a new set of request?
Let you praises ring!
