If I do its just aloe juice.. sometimes a little marshmallow root powder too. My horses have forage in front of them at all times so that should be an ulcer preventative in itself.

Dr. Depaulo has a good article on his page about ulcers- most are made worse or are partly caused by our feeds- renew gold is perfect for horses who have ulcers- I have a gelding that ive battled ulcers with for 6 years I started renew gold last year and within 1 month I didn't have to give anything for ulcers - I do mix aloe vera juice in my feed but I haven't had to give anything for ulcers in a long time- and he has had surgery and time off which normally would have sent him into a major ulcer problem but he never missed a meal - I love this feed

I've honestly never given my horse anything for Ulcers except for THE Gastroplus like 7 years ago and I don't think I noticed any difference. I do have him on Forco for the last 2 months but I'm not sure if I want to continue it.....?

I feed SmartGut with Renew Gold and alfalfa. I got embedded in a points race last year and was hauling my horse multiple times a week. My vet was running a $75 scope so I had her checked out and was really happy to see a healthy stomach. She had very limited irritation in one spot and that was it.

I have never had an ulcer horse. There is a very basic diet and management that does not encourage ulcers to develop. I am not saying that it makes ulcers impossible, just that it avoids a lot of the situations that make them likely. Plus, I tend to be a little lucky.
