Just moved to North West Arkansas from Utah. And the change is really taking a toll on my horses.. they went from straight alfalfa and cold snowy winter in Utah to Arkansas pastures, and warm weather. (we moved in December) all of my horses look terrible to say the least. We have been dealing with 90 degree weather and almost 100% humidity. besides that fact that they are not doing well on pasture, the bugs are AWFUL!! as well as the ticks! I am pulling 20-30 ticks off each horse (we have 11) no fly sprays are working. We even made our own spray with permthrin concentrate and eucalyptus oil and its not working. The horse flies and other flying bugs are driving my horse absolutely crazy! (hives and bug bites) so my main questions is, do I buy fly sheets for all of them or is it too hot for them. sorry for the long post. Just super frustrated horse owner...

I live in NE TX and I keep fly sheets on mine 24/7. They are out in the pasture. The sweat a little but not to extremes. I have found the AMIGO MIO sheets hold up a little better. My horses are pretty destructive

My sister lives in AR.. I know the heat and bugs you are referring to! I hauled my horses out there last summer to spend some time... my horses were absolutely miserable there. The horse Flies alone were hard to deal with! She keeps hers up in the barn during the day with fans on and then turns them out at night.. it offers a little relief. Not sure how much pasture you have, is it feasible to spray for insects? It might help to put some fans up in the shed row... and there's stuff called equi - spot suppose to help repel everything including ticks!
