| yes, I have researched.. yes I have read through previous postings.
I have a mare that I am fighting attitude issues with. She has been vetted and vetted and did i mention vetted by numerous vets, utd on everything, had her teeth done within the last 3 months....I am to the point I have called an animal communicator. I had a good experience, and was told my mare does enjoy her job, but is having lower abdominal pains.. I have her on omeprazole as a maintenance dose, however have read how it does not treat hind gut ulcers. She is ulcer prone, so this doesn't surprise me but her behavior is worse and worse. I understand the forage/stomach acid/saliva etc.. she is out on pasture with 3 other horses, except coming inside to eat. Not a TON of grass left, but some. I get round bales when I can. I do work so i cannot be home all day everyday to make sure she has hay available at all times. (sorry to all the tribute haters)--she is on a mixture of kalm ultra and kalm n ez with grass hay in morning and alfalfa mix in evening.
I am wondering where every ones horses are at this time that have been treated with cur-OST for some time. How long did it take for you to see results, are you happy with the product and the results?
I am in between that and EXCEL and not sure which to lean towards, but somethings got to give. |

| Oxygen has a great product that will get hind gut ulcers. Then Oxymax for maintenance. |

Location: OH. IO | Have you considered changing feed?I used tribute for awhile.i don't anymore.i won't go on a hate vent but JUST MAYBE your food is doing the damage.I do like THE gastro plus and it does work on hind gut ulcers.

Location: kansas | I know nothing about your feed, but from experience you have to treat the actual problem before changing feeds or diets will help. Once the problem is fixed then changing the diet may or may not help.
I had my horse on succeed I believe it was called and then I switched feed to Renew Gold and give forco as a supplement and I haven't had any issues in over two years. |

Location: South Dakota | Products that will helped my ulcery mare's hindgut ulcers; Succeed Paste Vet Formula , Gastrix, Forco, and Zesterra. It is a good idea to feed a small amount of soaked alfalfa pellets before you ride... even when they are feeling good...it helps keep a comfortable stomach. |

Location: Georgia | You can always buy slow feeding hay nets to make sure they have hay at all times. I use HayChix, they have a hay net that fits a whole square bale in it. Then I throw my netted square bale in a old water tub. Take my two a couple days to get through it. See my signature for a 20% code |

Location: Ohio girl moved to PA | i had the SAME problem with one of my guys. Mine all get Tribute, (LOVE the feed). 3lbs kalm n EZ morning and night with 2-3 flakes of a timithoy/alfalfa mix. I tried SO MANY different things and The only thing i saw a difference in was the DAC cool gut. I was absolutley amazed with how quickly his attitude changed. Its also pelleted so he cleans it right up. Hes so much more willing now and actually wants to learn without putting up his little fights first. I added aloe vera juice just as a little extra boost of help. its working in my barn! GOOD LUCK!! |

i had the SAME problem with one of my guys. Mine all get Tribute, (LOVE the feed). 3lbs kalm n EZ morning and night with 2-3 flakes of a timithoy/alfalfa mix. I tried SO MANY different things and The only thing i saw a difference in was the DAC cool gut. I was absolutley amazed with how quickly his attitude changed. Its also pelleted so he cleans it right up. Hes so much more willing now and actually wants to learn without putting up his little fights first. I added aloe vera juice just as a little extra boost of help. its working in my barn! GOOD LUCK!!
I am feeding dac cool gut and have noticed a decrease in sensitivity. I should note mine was extra cranky and sore through his belly and I've just tried several different things and the cool gut has show the most improvement but I also haven't been riding him due to an injury.
I don't understand why you would mix Kalm ultra and Kalm n ez. I would cut out the Kalm ultra and go to Kalm n ez because it does not have molasses. I would try to feed less grain and get better quality hay. They don't have to have hay 24/7 but if they are cleaning up every last drop in a few hours you need to feed more. |

There are actually A LOT of people who mix the two feeds. I have tried both separately but we have 9+ horses at any given point in time, and ALL of my horses are doing well except for her... so it's the horse, not the feed. I have very good quality hay, however with it putting hay out to 3 horses in one field I cannot control how much/how long she eats... thanks for everyone input on products. |

They are both good feeds, but that's interesting to mix them. Never heard of it and there's a lot of people in my area that feed it including me. I mix kalm n ez with sweet feed, so guess its kind of the same idea? I only suggested switching not because the molasses would make her hot, but everyone always preaches that molasses can cause ulcers due to the sugar breaking down in the hind gut. How true that is idk but it's just something to try. |

One lawsuit and dead horses is way more than enough to discontinue feed. |

On another note,
I use to enjoy coming to this site for advise on products, equipment etc.. but its more of a headache than its worth now. I asked about two specific products and I have had 4 people Private message me on how those products work for them. Not a SINGLE person on this forum has commented on either of the two products that were in question. Instead, people want to suggest other products, or talk about feed. I do not remember asking for opinions on my feed regimen. Thank you to those 4 people who PMd me, because they didnt want to offend anyone on here. Catch ya later!  |

| I have used both Cur Ost Stomach and Excell. My horses prefer the taste of Cur Ost and I felt like it did a good job. I also have used Excell and not all the horses I tried it on liked it. I felt like I got better results with Cur Ost Stomach. |

People on this forum are only trying to help you. They give you their own experiences with products that have helped them in case you haven't heard of them before.
Being nice will get you farther than being catty and quick to call names. If you don't like someones comment on your thread simply redirect your thread by posting: "any advice on product so and so?" If they say no, move on.
If you don't want to talk about your feed, don't post what you feed.
If you only have a question about a certain product post something like: "Can anyone give me updates, results, etc about the product CurOst in reference to hind gut ulcers?" And leave it at that. If someone asks what feed you are feeding and you think it will be a problem to post, PM them the name.
On a side note, what if this horse is allergic to something in the feed you are feeding? Wouldn't it be great if you could find a feed to make her feel better? We are only trying to help you and all we get in return is attitude. This is why people have stopped commenting and why people most likely do not comment on your threads. We have many many professional equine nutritionists here on this forum that would love to help you but won't simply because it's not worth it to waste their words on your thread and get attitude in return when you think you know everything there is. There is always something new to learn. Researching is key to improving our horses lives. People on this forum study, read, and research all of this for us and share htis info with us. They do the hard work. All we have to do is apply what they have learned.
Rethink your attitude and be open to new ideas. Just because someone suggests something that has helped them doesn't mean you have to be mean to them. They took the time out of their day to share their experience with you and all they got in return was attitude.  |
