| Have a horse with a small sarcoid on his face. Am wondering about using Crest on it, anyone tried it with success? Anyone try it and it made the sarcoid worse? Treating from the inside also with flax, alfalfa, and lysine. He had a sarcoid on his chest for a couple of years that disappeared on its own, but the one on his face is still there and looks to be developing another small one below it. Want to nip this in the bud!

| I have and it was gone in about 2 months, 7 years ago and has not returned. I used the paste not gel, smeared it on a few times a day. |

| Worked on mine. It was about the size of a half dollar, rough looking. I just put it on and reapplied when it looked like it needed more. Also used the paste not gel. I tried to get as close to the ol' regular Crest paste that I could. |

| My horse had one a little larger than a quarter near his shoulder. My vet told me to use regular Crest toothpaste and it worked beautifully. It's been over 3 years. |

| Been using nu-stock to shrink one. It's a whole lot smaller. |

| I went and bought Crest cavity protection paste and Crest Tartar protection. Looked like the only two that were close to the old original Crest. Will try the Crest cavity first. Thanks for the replies!! I have hope now! |

| How long does it take to see results? Any side effects? Does it seem to make it painful after a few applications? |

I treated mine several years ago and I think it took about a month to see them starting to disintegrate. Absolutely no pain or discomfort, he never reacted at all to me putting it on him. It was summer, my vet said use the xterra but wait till winter because it will become an open wound and draw flies. I read how much the xterra burns so for for 3 dollars and while waiting for winter I tried the crest. |

| My horse doesn't mind me putting it on at all. After just a couple of days it seems to be shrinking slightly. |

| Update! The sarcoid is almost completely gone! He was getting a new one below his one that was already established, the new one is completely gone without a trace. |

Location: SW North Dakota | I had a grey mare that had a huge one on her chest. I used Scarlet Oil and it disappeared and didn't return in the 3 years that I continued to own her... From what I understand, there are different "strains," so one treatment may not "cure" every type. Might take a bit of trial and error. My sister's gelding had a nasty one on the inside of his hock. That one responded to no OTC recipe, but after a couple years, finally did respond to the vet's 3rd or 4th "trick." |

Location: South | I tried the Crest toothpaste first. My mare had 3 of them and I ended up having to purchase Xxterra. I would agree with what everyone else is saying about trying the toothpaste first then go the Xxterra route. I will say the Xxterra has healed them up really nice but it is about a 60 day process. I'm crossing my fingers and toes that they don't return. |

| I just saw a new treatment option called Aldara. I was researching something else and saw the information on it. I don't know anything about the product, but thought I might share in case anyone was looking for a different treatment option. |
