Hi ya'll. I know it's not even summer yet, but it doesn't hurt to preplan. I'm thinking about possibly heading down to AZ for the month of January to futurity my colt/get away from the nasty winter weather. I don't have a LQ trailer so I'm wondering if anyone has done it before w/o LQ and where they and their horses stayed for a longer period of time? Do people generally just camp in Buckeye? Are there places outside where you can stay with your horse? I know a lot of trainers head down there and stay at friends houses. Anyone have an extra mother in law? :)

I would check on Bridle and Bit - they have TONS of classifieds. You could even run an ad to rent whatever it is you want to rent (house w/horse facilities, room and stall, etc). If you are going to go, you cannot make plans too early - things book up fast for winter.

Awesome! I was trying to find something like that! Thank you very much!

I stayed in Buckeye October to March and it was a tad chilly at night. I wouldn't recommend roughing it. The place I stayed at was 10 min down the road from the equestrian center, it was a bit rough but the arena is nice and it's a decent set up. Right off the river bed so tons and tons of places to ride. He has a mobile home on the place I'm sure he'd rent out for a month. I think it was less than $400 a month with a horse plus utilities. You can go ahead and message me and I can get you in contact with them.
