Hi all!!!
I need some help and different ideas....my horse was recently diagnosed with Kissing Spine and had Meso therapy and SI injected. Still super stiff in the hind and doesn't want to move out.
I have no idea how or where to start with rehabbing to start building the muscles up and hopefully correct as much as I can. Would like to one day be able to run barrels once again.

My gelding had surgery in september and has been is back running solid for two months now. We tried alternatives before surgery but he was still painful and we opted for surgery very happy we did.

Two of my three horses have had KS surgery done by dr Honnas. I tried all different kinds of therapy prior with no success. With both of mine I did aquatred prior to them getting ridden again and then just legged them up slowly. A lot of websites suggested Pessoa work to help build back muscles. Have to be honest I didn't see a reason to spend lots of money on trying different therapies on my second once since they didn't work on my first one and in the end would have just been a temporary fix anyway

You have three horses with KS..??? OMG! I have two showing KS X-rays but only one with symptoms. None of the injections, etc worked for mine. I opted against the surgery and she is a pasture ornament now.

Yes all three of mine ended up with varying degrees of KS. The first one took a long time to diagnose but since the surgery we have not looked back. My second one was found relatively quick and he already Doing awesome with limited hauling so surgery was a no brainier for him. He also came back stronger than before. The third one has always been put on the back burnt due to other issues. He was on the table about to get KS surgery when he was found to have a flapper. Decided to hold off on his till I have more time to dedicate to him. U tip then he will continue to be the class clown and comedienne. I would like to add that they are not bred the same more have they all been ridden with same Saddle or really had same symptoms. I know some people don't believe it is a real issue but when I see the X-ray and see how they perform and then do a block and see a difference it is the medical proof that's what the issue was. I know so many people are scared of the surgery, but if you have it done by th guru himself they are more than likely to come back better than they were to begin with

I think it depends on the severity. My gelding was diagnosed with a mild case of KS. I started him slowly with long lines and alternated with a neck stretcher w/surcingle (found on dover). He had some dressage basics so this part was easy but really getting him to lift up and work hard wasn't and took lots of time. I also work closely with a massage therapist. I will try and find the article that I started with. That took me a few months and then I started taking dressage lessons. I still 3 years later lunge 4-5x per week and ride once. I have found frequent workouts but only 20-30 min per day are the best. I also keep him heavily blanketed as cold really made him crampy in his back which flared up his KS.
I also buy him shoefly leggings so keep him from stomping. I have used sore no more after events and learned a lot of stretches from massage therapists and chiro's.
