My barrel horse was recently diagnosed with some knee arthritis. Vet seems to think she has a season, probably two, maybe three left in her...hopefully. Any suggestions on handling this? What have you guys used in the past with success to maintain this? Irap was a suggestion. Any good or bad experience with that? Thank you in advance.
IRAP is a great choice... BOT boots for the knees.. I haven't tried PHT, those may be a good idea as well. For my mare pentosan, previcox and icing them after riding have been very helpful. She had two chips removed but still has knee arthritis and I can tell a big difference when she is on Pentosan or Legend or Adequan. And regular exercise seems to help a lot :) best of luck!

Thank you! Do you ice after every ride or only runs? Have you tried to not work her as much in the direction the knee has the arthritis in to prevent less impact on it or anything?

What do y'all think about Osphos? Yes? No?
No personal experience, but I believe there was a thread on here not long ago about not being able to breed after using it. The OP's horse being a mare, that would concern me.
