Has anyone ever had any luck with getting rid of the lettering on a trophy saddle? Its on the jockey and fender which are both rough out. Could it be sanded off?

Without seeing the saddle, most likely the letters are "stamped" into the leather and then painted. By sanding down enough to take the paint off, you might weaken the fenders. It would not hurt the jockeys. Another option that has been used is to switch (sides) the fenders to use the "inside" as the outside. You may want to take it to a saddle shop to have that done.

My husband does boot shoe saddle leather repair.. the only thing you can do is make/or/buy new fenders. The results can be a mess and not look right if you try to sand off, etc. Additonally depends on deeply it was stamped- it could/most likely will weaken the leather.
