| So I have rode my Martha Josey Ultimate for like EVER... 15 years plus... Have loved it and won lots out of it. But I have a horse now it doesn't fit so am saddle shopping. I know everyone in my area raves about the Pozzis and the Semas' But I keep noticing these ads for those saddles that say things like "I sold the horse I bought it for" or "Only a year old and I need a different one". So that makes me wonder. Then I researched the new Martha Josey Ultimates since they now make a wide tree. They look FANTASTIC... But they aren't prevalent here in my area so I don't know how to go about trying one??? Can anyone give me any feedback on them?? The Renegade looks close to a Pozzi. The Hiphugger round (ultimate) looks great too! They have sure deepened the seats....
ANY opinions would be appreciated :) Circle Y isn't being exactly helpful. |

| My jumping saddle is not only an off brand, it's a style that hasn't been in fashion for 20 years, or longer. Assuming it fits the horse I'm riding, they move better, and i ride better, than any of the "in" saddles I've tried.
Ride what works. Most reputable shops should let you demo a saddle, even a used one. Call and ask.

Location: Texas | I recently bought a gently used Josey Ultimate Wide Tree. I have ridden in Josey saddles for a long time also, but my young horse is just wider, flatter across the back & ribs. I have not tried the other models but the wide tree fits my horse great. Love it for me too. |

I've been riding in joseys for 20plus years. I've tried cactus, circle y Marlene, corriente, circle y nbha, courts, bob Marshall. I just can't seem to throw the money at the double j's.or Simas.(although I'd love to try one.)
A josey just feels like home.
Just sold my old josey to buy a smaller one. We just got the new josey ultimate hiphugger in a wide for one of my kids horses (15.1 and a brick house) and it fits her perfectly!and we've tried numerous saddles on her. I haven't had any issues with saddle fit on any of the horses I've ridden in it. From a wide backed hippo-to a scrawny little Arabian. and I love it so much I am getting one for myself! |
