Hello! I am looking at a prospect who has great breeding on his sire's side but I am unfamiliar with his dam's side. I am looking at a 2 year old out of SUNDANCE SMOKED PINE by STREAKINTOAFIRSTDOWN. I have always read that the dam contributes to most of the talent. Does anyone out there buy a prospect just because of their sire? Thanks in advance!

I personally love Doc Quixote horses! Otoe has sired some performers. (Four Six Jess on a cow/ foundation bred should be cool anyway... :} LOL )

The mare is foundation bred with the greats at the back of her pedigree, but they are back there.

I actually know his bottom side, I worked at the ranch that had Doc Sock. He was a nice minded stud, they did breakaway on him some at MRA rodes and a lot of the teenage girls with not a lot of horse experience rode him. He wasn't super fast but he was pretty athletic. I know a few of his offspring are doing sorting and cow events around MN. I don't remember the mare off the pedigree, there were a fair amount they had there but besides a few cutting mares none of the mares were used for performance.
