What's everyone doing for coffin joint inflammation ? I know a good farrier and balanced feet helps. What about Injections ? What about IRAP anyone using this in between injections ? If so Are you seeing a difference ?
What are some other options that people could to help treat or prevent the soreness ? TIA
Depends on what's causing the joint inflammation. I have had horses that only needed it injected once due to stress/poor shoeing and horses that needed it done for arthritis. Be cautioned it is a high motion joint and cannot be done repeatedly without consequence.
shoeing shoeing shoeing. I make sure all of my angles are correct and get x rays if I need to to make sure im not dealing with negative palmar angles... if shoeing/trim alone doesn't resolve the coffin joint soreness then I go to joint injections. I have personally not done too much with the regenerative medicine techniques available due to cost but as a practitioner, one of the other vets here really sees good results with it.
