Location: Georgia | Would like some feedback regarding Equine Massage Therapy. I've used Chiro many times and have had great success but what's the perks of massage and is it a field worth looking into as far a secondary or potentially primary career? |

Location: Paducah, Ky | I am a huge believer in equine massage I usually try to chiro my horse once every two months at least and they are usually out all over. That being said I just started having a girl massage my horse and when I took him to my vet to get a chiro he said he didn't need it he wasn't out anywhere! I was astonished cause this horse had some chronic neck issues I was trying to work out. I couldn't be more pleased. |

Thank you! I feel like my horses benefit from it as much as humans. I know I always feel better after a Chiro or massage. |

| A good grooming takes 30-45 minutes because really getting after a horse's big muscles with a curry is considered part of it. So many people skip it, and it's important. You can massage out kinks, and start a horse warming up before they ever start moving. I'm as guilty as anyone else about not grooming on days I don't ride, and sometimes just giving a horse a once-over when I'm pressed for time, but my horse reminded me today she really does enjoy it and it makes her feel better, especially if she's been a bit sore. |

Location: Ohio girl moved to PA | I LOVE IT! my best friend is a Certified Equine Massage therapist and my boys love when she comes to touch them haha They both have fallen asleep at the trailer while shes working on them. I saw a huge difference the first time she worked on them. It helps she showed me a few things that i can do on my own and what to look for so now my boys are super spoiled. i go over them atleast once a week and i see her all the time so she checks the smaller stuff for me. I havent had to get mine chiro'd in months! But if you do have to, i suggest doing it the same day as the massage. If the muscles arent relax the bones arent going to stay in place. As far as a career, she does it part-time/at shows. She also has a full time job she goes to daily. She said its actually still really new to people so not everyone uses massage so there isnt a huge market for it yet. but she believes it will take off eventually. |

Starting at shows would definitely have it benefits, especially for establishing a client base. I feel like it's starting to make a strong statement with high performance horses. As a rider, I've seen the results and I know others who have as well. |
