I've never been to the NFR, is there any seating areas that should be avoided? I saw there was balcony seats, has anyone ever watched from that area? I don't want total nose bleed seats, but I also don't want to spend $400 per seat either. Any advice is appreciated! Thanks
There isn't a BAD seat in the place, it's a really small venue. That being said of course the plaza (lower level) seats are great especially if you have never been. You can pick up seats in plaza for around $250 if you REALLY LOOK HARD.
I would avoid sitting rows A-D in the balcony as you will be looking through the rail.
Balcony seats rows J-M are still great, and you can find them in the $110 range. I don't like any higher than that due to the VERY steep stairs in the balcony.
Just a tip, don't buy now. Seats will be more plentiful and cheaper with more selection after Oct 1st :)

The first year we went we literally sat on the next to the top row!!! I was worn out from the climb!! But you could still see everything in great detail, and our tickets were free!!! We have since learned where we like to sit! I like the corners on the roping box end. I feel like in the middle I was always craning my neck to see something! Maybe I'm just a weirdo!! But as stated, there isn't a bad seat in that place. It's so small in there- you can see from everywhere!!
my best friend went last year and she told me not to buy tickets in advance because there are always people standing outside trying to sell them pretty cheap right before the rodeo starts. we are going this year (this will be my first year). we will be there for a total of 5 nights but only care to actually go to the rodeo 1 night so I figure we will just see which night we can get the best seats for once we are there.
We usually have 2 seats that are plaza 4 rows from the bottom for sale during the week. Message me with when you are going and maybe we can work something out.
