| What are the best all around/barrel saddle pads out there? I see a lot of 1in pads, but that's pretty thick. Recommendations? |

Location: Jersey Girl | I have always like the Pro Choice pads but just bought a Thin Line pad that is shimable. So far I am really happy with it and its only a 1/2 thick. |

| I like 5 stars because they come in various thicknesses and they seem to last me nearly forever. lol I choke at the price but If I split that into years and months of service its pretty cheap. |

Location: Under The Big Sky Of Texas | Go to 5 Stars web site, you can get them in different thickness, 1/2, 3/4, 7/8, 1 inch and the length you need. 5 Star is all I use, and I do like useing a Back On Track pan under my 5 Stars, helps keep them cleaner to. Just wanted to ad you can custom the 5 Stars to your liking, all my pads that I have I had my brand put on them and custom wear leathers.

| My horse really likes the saddleright pad with the Back On Track saddle liner or a fleece liner. For some reason he is not fond of the wool felt or hospital felt pads. |

I personally like the feel of the 5Star a whole lot better. It is softer feeling and more maluable than the best ever. The best ever is too stiff to me. 5Star is the best quality natural material pad out there in my opinion. It wicks moisture from your horses back and is naturally shock absorbant. |

| I do not like the feel of Best Ever. 5 Star all the way but if you're on a budget I also like Diamond Wool. |

| We mostly use 5 stars. We have a CSI that we use on one horse/saddle combo. My husband uses an ESP from Classic Equine on his heel horse, although it's about wore out.
We watched the Racers Edge episode last night were they toured the zoombang factory, might try one of those at some point.
For straight wool though, 5 stars hands down. Won't waste my money on anything else. The cats sleep on a Best Ever that he won a couple years ago and might have used a full year - its shot.

Cheaply made. No support. No breathability.
Try and stick to natural materials such as wool. They have the best shock absorbancy, breathability, and wicking ability.
The air rides feel cheap and are very light. They don't last long at all. |
