2000500100100252525
Monday morning starting around 9am in Oregon and Washington states ..
Progressing across the country to hit the east coast as late as 4pm ..

The danger is the darkness increases the pupil and the severe brightness
of the sun in that sphere can damage the eye.

I plan on stalling my horses in their stalls so they cannot look at the eclipse.
Rather try to prevent an eye problem than wish I had done something
later.

These poor weather people are about as informative as a rock in
a bucket .... look at it anyway and try to decipher what in the world
they are yacking about ... lol

https://www.accuweather.com/en/videos/trending-now-videowall/clouds-...

So you will believe it is going to get darker ... watch this one ..
Again, they never tell you to hole up somewhere out of view of the
sun ... but turn on your headlights and keep on driving ...
these idiots talk about 263 million cars are headed for the main
path of the eclipse ... there isn't but 320 million people in the USA
and over half of those can't drive .... lol

I will be stuck in a building at work. Since they can't seem to predict the weather around here worth a darn, I have to wonder what all the people with extravagant plans to watch it will do if it's so cloudy you can't see it.

I'm about 35 miles from what they are calling ground zero, defined as the place where totality will be the longest, Hopkinsville, Ky. I was working there Tuesday. It's already a madhouse. NASA has the lake Barkley Lodge booked. The Dept of Homeland Security has set up shop in Hopkinsville. Hopkinsville is about 30K people. They are expecting in excess of 200K visitors.

A really interesting sidebar, Kelly, Ky is just outside Hopkinsville. There was a supposed alien invasion in Kelly that's known as the "Kelly incident". The locals shot at the aliens but they they didn't kill or capture any.

They have a Kelly Green Men festival this time every year. Why this time? That invasion took place on Aug 21, 1955. There's quite a bit of info on the Kelly thing if you google it.

That is quite a coincidence that ground zero for the eclipse is the same place on the same date.

 Your horses are not humans.

They are not going to be looking at the eclipse. They are fine.

They are at no more risk than any other day they are outside in the sunlight.

I have a feeling they are going to treat it like clouds rolling in making it darker before rain. (They wont even pick their head up out of the grass.) I keep fly maks on anyway.
