Location: SW New Mexico | I have acquired a very nice quality built 18 year old quarter horse with this brand on his left hip.
He's with me to gain some weight and to find a nice home for his remaining years with someone who would treat him right and trail ride on him and so forth.
He has previously in the past been a rodeo head horse and has all the characteristics of a horse that has been hauled a lot..... he's well-mannered ....he's loads into anything he unloads very well .......
just looking for help in finding his beginning.
Can't upload pictures on my phone... Bummer
It's a capital backward RTR.. left hip..

She sent me 2 more pictures but for some weird reason I cant size them, they are going to be so tiny you'll have to use a magnifying glass to see them. |

I wish I knew his registered name. I know he's registered animal he is quality and it's sad to see a horse that maybe gets passed down from hand-to-hand that started well like this animal did end up in the condition he's in. He belongs to my brother now and my brother wants to see him go to a good home he's had everything done on him he's up to date on teeth shots worming and I'm feeding him Total Equine and free choice hay and he's already perked up and looks 100% happier. I wish I knew his registered name and if it's possible I'd love to find out more on his brand, and where this Riding for Christ Ranch is located....I appreciate all your help and looking forward to more
Information on this good looking gelding called Billie.

Location: The best kept secret in TX | Whew. I've been looking through each county in texas at every brand currently registered and previously registered with an R. I have two leads. (6 hours later....) I have no results for brands registered in NM or Arizona that are even remotely close to this brand. My next step in to check surrounding states and go out from there. Wish me luck! |

Location: The best kept secret in TX | Okay the two ranches in Texas are Reverse Texas Ranch RTR in King County, TX and One in Madison County that didn't have the name listed with the brand and that I have searched google for 2 hours with no luck of finding. Keep in mind these two brands are NOT exact matches to the one you posted but are close enough to take a look into. These two brands listed above in King and Madison County could be a family brand and will make it very hard to track down if the brand is not linked to a website or photo on the internet. I spent hours looking for a website, ranch, etc liked to the ranches but I was unsuccessful.
Arizona's ag website has all the brands listed out by text, not by design, county, etc. So if I was to find the brand it would read: ReverseRCrossRLeftHip. Or any other version of the brand listed below, mixed into millions of other words seperated only by commas.. It's mulitple pages long, 8 point font, with absolutely no spaces.... So I'm ruling Arizona out because halfway through page one my eyes hurt...
Colorado wants me to buy the brand book to do a look up and I don't have $200 dollars. LOL So I would suggest contacting the Sheriff or other Ag representative in Colorado for a Brand Inspection.
Utah also wants me to purchase the brand book to do a look up. It's only $25 but I don't want to spend $25 on a dead end. So again, contact their ag department or Sheriff's Office for a brand Inspection.
Brands in Oklahoma not registered with Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raiser's are only available in a brand book form and I can't figure out how to "order" one to see if it's just a free download instead. (Sometimes things like this are.) I would just call the Oklahoma Cattle Raiser's Association and ask for a brand inspection since they have the books at the Sheriff's Office.
Kansas has a very great brand lookup system that's easy to use, in case anyone needs to lookup a Kansas brand. Although I couldn't find the brand, even when I replaced the Cross with a T instead. No luck. Great system tho!
So, my suggestion would be to set up a time with your NM brand inspector to get the brand inspected and see if they have info on the brand. If they don't start checking surrounding states.
Here is a way to set up an appointment with NM Brand Inspectors via the internet: https://www.nmlbonline.com/inspectors
And here is the New Mexico Livestock Board's Information: NMLB Office Location: 300 San Mateo BLVD NE, STE 1000 ALBQUERQUE, NM 87108-1500 Phone: 505-841-6161 Fax: 505-841-6160
If they cannot help you, the brand may have never been registered. Which means you are literally looking for a needle in a haystack... that's possible on fire....
You can explain the brand the following ways depending on how the owner described it to read while registering the brand (If the brand was ever registered) : Reverse R Cross R Reverse R T R Backwards R Cross R Backwards R T R Good luck! |

Location: The best kept secret in TX | And as always if you don't want to do all of that I will need the name of the person you purchased from, location you purcahsed from, and any other info you may have on the horse. Possible horse names, possible ads that were listed of the horse being for sale, Organizations the horse roped in, a barn name of the horse while roping, and possibly a jockey's name while he was roping. If I could have any of those things PMd to me I MIGHT could find the brand. |

Wow! You really did some research and I appreciate that thank you. I was kind of thinking it could be a Texas brand but I'm going to follow a few of your suggestions and I'll keep you all posted because I am just dying of curiosity as to what the beginning of this fine animal was. I have p.m. do on who owned the horse previously. We'll just see what happens thanks everybody I really appreciate you all so I love this group! |
