Admist all the devastation there are so many heartwarming stories.   Aid for the animals is pouring in from all over the country.  The need is huge and will remain for a while.   Folks have joined together and as soon as an 18 wheeler arrives it is unloaded by an army of volunteers and sent to areas in need.   There are teams going out by horseback and boat rescuing animals in very dangerous high waters.  A father and son on FB have shared their experiences, they have been on horseback for 7 days rescuing animals and I know there are 100's more  doing the same.     Every guy with a bass boat showed up to help rescue people.   As someone on Facebook said, this is our country, this is what we are about and do not let anybody tell you we are full of hate.   All this from ordinary people who saw the need and stepped up.   The coordinating and distribution of supplies is running like a well oiled machine.   Thank you to those who have helped and shown  us what it means to be selfless and caring.

Does anyone but me ever feel a little anger at the fact that the U.S. bends over backwards to help every country on Earth in need of help because of natural disasters. It's expected of us.... and yet rarely will any of these countries lift a finger to help us in these tragic circumstances.   Canada, Mexico....you're close.   Send some aid.

I believe some of the Mexican Army showed up immediately.

Couple of things I want to mention. I hope you saw all the nice trucks loaded with supplies in the University trucks from all over. East Texas artist University along with Marshall(TX) ISD and the Marshall Fire Dept took boats and their supplies were probably in a truck lent to them by a local trucking company.

Our school district is adopting sister schools in the area. If messaged them not to forget the small town schools. If there is a school whose students need assistance please let me know and I will at least pass it on to our Admin

If only our country could work together all the time in a decent way, not just during disasters

Texas People <3 American People <3
I know without a shadow of a doubt there are more of us out there that LOVE our country and our people.
I am a born and raised texas woman. I'm so proud to among good strong people of my state and my country.
I have seen a great outpouring from folks from all over our country reaching out and still doing so.
My son lives in Galveston and he and a group of His friends went to the Friendswood Tx area to help clean and tear out flood soaked houses.
He said unknown people are driving up and asking "what can I do to help?" License plates on cars and trucks are from all over our country.
The interstates going to the South Texas areas are loaded w trucks, vans, cars with supplies.
The news media has consistently painted a different picture these past months of all the crazies demonstrating and tearing down our historical monuments.
Why?
Look at what OUR TRUE PEOPLE are about!!!!
Look at OUR PEOPLE!!!
These are the people that count and should be heralded and acknowledged.
Not the ones trashing our President and all he's done thus far for our country, the movie stars w their own set of whining, the liberal offended of the offended, the transgender groups complaining about bathrooms or military status, the offended trying to change the names of schools and streets that were named after war soldiers because its offensive, black lives matter groups, the women's movement complaining rather nastily about how their rights are being taken away lol
It just keeps going on and on and on.
Well you know what?
We the good people matter!
In South Texas?
I haven't seen anyone complaining about a white man from Louisiana coming up in a boat to rescue a southern black family or Asian family.
Or a black man rescuing a white, Asian or Muslim family from the flood waters.
Kinda gets to your heart w much pride it does!
The news media and the greatly troubled twisted groups are those arm chair champions that dont have a clue of what truly goes on and how the REAL PEOPLE live and operate.
Oh how very proud I am and more so now to see "WE THE PEOPLE" show em how it's done!!!
I personally will forever be changed in my heart.
I personally will no longer allow those twisted individuals to bring on the assault they once tried to use to divide our nation's good people.
May God continue to work through our people for HIS GOOD!!!

GOD BLESS TEXAS and GOD BLESS THE USA and HER PEOPLE!!!

I'm bumping this simply cause I think we should all read what Yakima wrote one more time
God bless OUR country, the country of just plain ole normal folks who don't hate or want to kill each other. The country that's coming to the aid of the South when she needs everyone. . .

We dodged the bullet down in my part of South Texas, so I sent all my supplies to Houston/Rockport. Now it looks like us Texans who weren't effected need to gear up to help Floridians. I am sure praying for them. My niece is a news producer at a station in West Palm Beach and she will be staying at the station. I am worried sick about her.

As I was coming to school today, 9/5/17, two trucks pulled out of a motel in Marshall TX headed north. they had long stock trailers that were empty. Licensed said Illinois. On the glass on the truck it said Hurricane Harvey Relief. They had taken a load of feed and hay to South Texas. I gave them the thumbs up to show appreciation. Bless all the people who have sent animal feed. We have on going donations at Marshall High School but it is school supplies.

Our area has gathered needed supplies for people and cleaning supplies, etc. My heart lies more towards the horses and livestock, but I can't find anywhere close that is doing that. I took dog and cat food, and Momma took that plus cleaning supplies and other stuff to our local drop off, but I still feel the need to help the horses. . . .
