Go For It!
     Location: Texas |
TO ALL THOSE WANTING TO HELP DURING THIS TIME OF NEED.... I think this is important for everyone to consider, especially if you are wanting to help by collecting items to donate... If you have used clothing IN GOOD CONDITION and want to donate it, we would love to have it... it would help immensely if you could be sure that it is washed, folded, boxed, and labeled... (girls, boys, sizes 2t-4t, winter/summer, mens-ladies, etc) Please make sure shoes are paired together and in good condition. If you have loose diapers please have them boxed and labeled "mixed sizes, baby diapers". It would help our volunteers out more than you can imagine. If you are donating toiletries please separate them into toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, conditioner, razors, etc. If you are bringing a box of small items we certainly wouldn't expect you to do that, but for those that are collecting and bringing to distribution centers it would save so much manpower (which is needed in other areas) if those things were already sorted and ready to distribute.
Please keep in mind that during this time cleaning supplies... bleach, toilet bowl cleaner, comet, scrubbing bubbles, gloves, masks, laundry detergent, mops, brooms, building supplies, magnet rollers, INSECT REPELLENT, SUNSCREEN, rags, fans, etc... are things that can be used right away. Volunteering your TIME is a HUGE blessing, and so needed. Although every donation is appreciated, these small requests will make such a big impact on those that are volunteering to work in the shelters and donation locations. We are using our vacant building as a donation center for La Grange, TX. We have 10,000 square feet of space - it is FULL... overflowing really. The majority of that is clothing, which needs to be sorted and packed into boxes. Although we appreciate EVERYONE who has donated, we are asking that you hold on to any clothing donations you may be considering bringing at this time while we sort out what we have already received. Thank you again for your amazing response to these needs... the people of Texas will forever be grateful for our family, friends, neighbors, and everyone else that has held out their hand to us. May God bless you, each and every one!

Location: Kansas | Marcus Luttrell was on FOX this morning, plainly a little shaken by the whole situation as he also was caught in the flooding. He was emphatic about the need for baby formula.

| I was watching CBS SUNDAY MORNING and a lady from NJ was explaining what they had done. Very creative. She set up wedding selections at Sams Walmart and other national stores. What I saw on there was a generator, cases of diapers, cases of various cleaning supplies. (Just what I saw). For instance if a high school took up several hundred dollars they could buy the generator online. It could be picked up in the town where there was a store. She said it would boost economy of the area and get people back to work. NO RED CROSS and they got only what they needed.
This is long but please read.

| Attention: One load of hay and one load of straw donation available 30 miles east of St. Louis. If you have a truck and trailer and can deliver to Texas Ranchers in flood call 618-781-1440 and ask for Luke. He will load you out. Drop off will be arranged for you prior to your leaving, probably a horse trailer dealership in the affected areas.
Attention: 300 fresh round bales of grass hay donated in Durant, OK. If you have a truck and trailer to deliver to Texas Ranchers in flood, Stevie will load you out. Contact Stevie Hizer, 832-401-2485. Drop off will be arranged for you prior to your leaving, probably a horse trailer dealership in the affected areas.
