thinking about getting a brazilian saddle and just wondering if anybody out there in barrel horse land rides in one. Do you have to be a 1D rider to stay in one? Are they comparable to riding in a bob marshall?

Theres a few threads about these saddles, look them up.. I dont think you have to be a 1D rider to stay in one, I bet you can be any D rider and stay in a Brazillian saddle, a Bob marshall is a treeless saddle a Brazillian has a tree

I rode in one of Tiany's saddles years ago when she first got them. I'm not saying I'm sherry cervi or anything, but I've ridden true 1d horses most of my life... I WAS SCARED TO DEATH!! They definitely take some getting used to! It felt like the saddle on the horse in front of wal-Mart to me!! You sit more on top of them instead of IN them. I wouldn't compare them to a Bob Marshall whatsoever!

Not comparable at all to a bob Marshall.

From what I've heard there's no way I would spend that kind of money without trying one first and making runs in it...sounds to be a very different theory and ride. That's not chump change to lay out there to buy one and hate it.

Also keep in mind that they aren't saddles you can ride in everyday. Everything I've found has said they will sore a horse if you ride it all the time. It's basically a saddle for competition only.

Also, all the people that successfully ride them have wicked core and leg strength. If you don't have a strong, solid leg...you more than likely won't be able to ride it. If you like to gap open to kick and star fish, it might not work for you either.
