I have a horse that first developed a spot on her side that looked like half a golf ball, non painful. We wrote it off as a fly bit. Never really got smaller after a month. Then I went to a barrel race on a Sunday and my horse worked really nice brought her home, slow worked her and put her up. No issues at all. The next morning we went to get her out of the stall and found a huge spot on her back that looked like tremors. The spot was hard and very painful. Had the vet out and took blood and ran test for strangles and pigeon fever. All the blood test came back completely normal and she tested negative for both other viruses. We ultra sounded all the locations and pulled samples all the same exact outcome, blood. And the blood pockets are all under the muscle and seem to be moving outward from within the body.
We are going on 7 days and absolutely no change. She is on heavy antibiotics and bute/banamine
We have been in contact with several vets across the US and several universities and no one has ever seen this before.
I was just wondering if any one else has dealt with this. Surely I am not only person in the world.
will attach a picture
she has not had a fever and still eats and drinks good. No change behavioral

Just curious, what are her bloodlines? (Probably not HERDA since it would have shown up by now I would think). Hope you get it sorted out and get her back intop shape again--keep us posted when you find out what it is!

I had a 8 year old mare that got one on her rump about the size of a baseball. Showed up over night. Had the vet out and he drained it and put in a drain tube. It healed up and has never came back. No injury or poke mark on her. It was just full of a bloody liquid.
