| Hello ladies and gentleman.
I'm looking to see what all my stallion options are for 2018 that the stud fee is under $1500 and will cross well with my mare.
Don't have any updated pictures of her yet, should have some in a week or so as I know how helpful that is.
She is a daughter of Wave Carver out of a Valiant Hero mare. SI 97, ROM, Race winner. This will be her first foal. Not a huge mare, probably 14.3hh as a three year old.
Looking for something with little or no Dash Ta Fame, Dash for Cash as she has quite a bit in her pedigree. Something with good re sell value as I don't keep colts.
I have my eye on a few but just checking to see if there is any I missed or any deals/promos I am unaware of.
Thank you :) |

King Henry
He is a First Down Dash grandson, trying to stay away from that. And looking for something more proven or a proven producer.

Fiestas Gotta Gun or Magnum
Magnum is at the top of my list. Just not sure what his stud fee will be next year. |

| Guys Easy Jet. By Frenchmans Guy out of a daughter of Easy Jet. Owner is so easy to work with. That is an important consideration for me. I have certainly had some losers to deal with |

| How do you plan to market the foal? By that I mean what kind of foal are you hoping to produce. Personally, I'd breed to a race stallion that is also proven in the barrel pen. That gives you options as far as selling. You could market as a yearling at a race sale, or as a 2 year old as a barrel prospect.
I'm not going to give any suggestions because it's been too long since I've shopped for a stallion like I mentioned, and I have no idea what stud fees are or even what's out there that fits this criteria. But I wanted to share my opinion in case that changed your line of thinking! |

Will Highpoint Performance horses have any of there barrel stud semen in Alberta next year? I think a vet clinic in the Red Deer area was a Canadian distributor last year. |

I've bred two mares to him and both colts are so easy to work with. I think we'll see some doing really well in 2019 futurities. I actually have a mare by Wave Carver and out of a Chicks Beduino mare and when I'm done riding her, I'd really like to bred her to Frenchmans Feature!

| Hired Gun, he is a son of Playgun out of a daughter of PSB. I think his stud fee is $1500, but they have a good promo going on right now where that includes the chute fee, stud fee and your first shipment free! He's an amazing athlete, gorgeous and such a sweetheart. We bred our TB mare to him and can't wait to see what they produce! He stands at The Ranch Equine in Whitesboro, TX.
ETA: his owners, the Lowrances, are great to work with, as well as the staff at The Ranch!

| My opinion is that "re-sell" isn't really a factor in that price point. Everything in that range is probably going to sell anywhere from $2K-5K, take out vet fee's and the basics and you are down to making $0-$1000...as long as nothing goes wrong. If I were you, I'd pick something that works for you. Something that you will love no matter what it turns out to be. At this level you are doing it for fun, not to make a living. So pick some bloodlines that you love or a stallion that you think just really looks the part, then go for it.

I second this wholeheartedly! He is proven himself, has several offspring that have kicked butt big time! I know he won the 1D @MI State NBHA several years and believe some of his "kids" have too, or close to it. Am sure he is 5 panel negative AND no signs of any PSSM2 in him or offspring either. |

I'll third this!! I bred 2 mares to him, my fillies are 2 yr olds and doing great!! We are hauling one to exhibitions and the other one is still with my colt starter. He actually ask to keep her, free of charge till after the Fall. He wants to buy her, but I bred to keep. |

Walking/driving semen across the border is actually a lot easier than shipping it, so if you live somewhat near the border and don't want to haul your mare across, it's much easier to drive across and pick it up than ship it. I've known semen to get lost in customs and be delivered weeks late, but other times it arrived just fine!
I think Firewater Finale is in Alberta now. |

He now stands at 4 Tress Ranch in Grande Prairie. His new owner is planning to ship cooled fresh semen in 2018!
We also had some semen frozen on him this year for use in the US before he was sold.

I've seen him in person when he was in Utah. He is beautiful and very well behaved. |
