Have a new gelding. Kind of a fat roley poley build. Not much wither and pretty flat across the back. I have 3 saddles at home we have tried on him. The worst fit is the Cactus Charmayne james. The second worst fit is the Calwell Rocket. and the best fit is the Billy Cook. That one is actually not that bad but not the most comfy saddle in the world.
Any suggestions as we start a winter of saddle shopping?

Sounds just like my gelding. My rocket rolled on him really bad too. I tried and sent back a Martin BTR, FX3 and a Tami Semas-all felt stiff and rolled. I finally coughed up the money and bought a Roo-absolutely love it and it fits him great. It s the FBN6 tree.

Took pictures last night in all the saddles we had in the barn. none seem to be a good fit but you tell me what is wrong and what might work. Keep in mind he is about an inch down hill right now. (4 year old) but his body shape has stayed pretty consistent all summer.
