As peaceful Americans we sit by & watch as other protest and demonstrate against things we hold dear and believe in.
We shake our heads and fuss among ourselves about these things but then do very little about them.
Only we can stand up for ourselves. There is already a movement taking place to boycott NFL and their sponsors that is a great start !!!
But let’s all have our own demonstration to show our support for our Flag and our National Anthem.
It’s a demonstration ANY one who wants can be involved in “ The United We Stand “ demonstration.
On this coming Saturday fly a flag, in your yard, on your porch, on your car. Anywhere you can show one off. Then take a picture of it and post it on Face Book. Post it in groups your are in. Let’s see how many people we can get to support our flag and the our protest for the National Anthem.

I am past tired of these crybaby, multi-millionaire athletes whining about how bad they have it.
edited to add: I wish there was a way to travel sideways and see exactly where they would be now had their ancestors stayed in the country of ethnic origin. I am betting it wouldn't include the bank account or popularity they currently enjoy.

The specific rule pertaining to the national anthem is found on pages A62-63 of the NFL League Rulebook. It states:
“The National Anthem must be played prior to every NFL game, and all players must be on the sideline for the National Anthem.
“During the National Anthem, players on the field and bench area should stand at attention, face the flag, hold helmets in their left hand, and refrain from talking. The home team should ensure that the American flag is in good condition...
...It should be pointed out to players and coaches that we continue to be judged by the public in this area of respect for the flag and our country. Failure to be on the field by the start of the National Anthem may result in discipline, such as fines, suspensions, and/or the forfeiture of draft choice(s) for violations of the above, including first offenses.”
This is not a first amendment issue but part of the players' NFL employment contract. If the players want to protest, take it outside of the workplace...

Location: North Dakota | We have a flag flying in our yard 24/7 365. My brother is in the Army, he just left on a deployment overseas days ago. I will not stand for people who do not stand for him and others who have protected this great country.
I am beyond disappointed in the Cowboys tonight. I thought for sure they would stand at attention and respect the flag. I didn't get to watch any NFL game this weekend because I was disgusted with every one of them. I was excited to get off work today to enjoy the game tonight but I turned it off the moment the cowboys knelt before the anthem. |

We are a diehard cowboys family in this house... my problem however is the fact that all of these athletes want to act like little sh*ts when they make MILLIONS to play a sport for a living and our soldiers make barely anything to fight for our freedom and their right to play?!
This----they disrespect those same soldiers that fight to give them a right to play football as a profession making millions a year and then moan about not being treated "equal"?????? And some of the soldiers are on their team. . . . Unbelievable. Lost all respect for Jerry Jones tonight. |

I believe it is all because of people are against the President and are doing everything they can think of to continue to make him look bad. I back President Trump 100%, but sometimes his "tweets" (like the media), keeps everything stirred up. If he would ignore things like this, it wouldn't get near the media coverage that it gets, which makes it worse! I guarantee if you didn't continually feed the beast, it would eventually die off. |

| I guess I do not see what the big deal is. I also do not see it as disrespecting the flag or anthem or soliders. They have made it clear what they are protesting and I think it is well within reason. They have a right to free speech, they did not incite violence of any kind. So what if they are getting paid, they still have a right to free expression. Seems to me the real issue is that people only grasp the concept of freedom when it suits them. |

Let me preface this by saying that I do support the right to protest but I, also, agree with Trump, and support the stance that a person, who is an American and proud, SHOULD support the flag and National Anthem. That being said, previously, only a few took a knee and last week ONLY SIX players took a knee. However, once again, Trump has managed to STIR UP tensions with his idiotic foul mouthed rant against the sports teams ....when he SHOULD be using his time and energy taking care of HIS BUSINESS AS PRESIDENT......you know....health care, taxes, budgets, North Korea, etc. etc. etc ........ In the overall scheme of our country's demise, the sports figures "taking a knee" is miniscule compared to the REAL problems that he SHOULD be working on EVERY DAY! |

If he would ignore things like this, it wouldn't get near the media coverage that it gets, which makes it worse! I guarantee if you didn't continually feed the beast, it would eventually die off.
I believe that he is absolutely trying to address those issues. But I think that by continually giving the media something like the NFL and the standing/kneeling issues to bash him about, all it does is take away from what he is actually trying to accomplish... addressing those issues that you mentioned! If N. Korea continues on the path it is trying to go on, football and all other sports will be the last thing on our minds!
Most professional sports teams are filled with spoiled brats who make mega bucks and are using their time on the field to protest minorities being oppressed and all the while depositing ungodly amounts of money in their bank accounts each day. They should be using their time, talents and money in trying to clean up the real reason there is so much crime in the neighborhoods many of them came from. If they would do that and let the President run our country like he is trying to do... gosh, just imagine how different our country would look!!! It's not gonna happen, but it is nice to dream!

I think people are blowing the flag thing out of proportion. Now killing people, that deserves attention and that is exactly what these players are trying to do. I don't even like football but I get what they are trying to do and fully support their right to do so. Because, you know, freedom and stuff.

| You know I was at a rodeo and they played the Mexican and Canadian National anthems as well as ours; I stood for them all.....out of respect.
These overpaid, cosseted athletes have lost any positive regard that I might have had whining about how downtrodden, oppressed or disadvantaged they had it coming up. Well I grew up poor, bullied, etc., and nobody gave me a hand up and our income is nowhere near the million dollar mark.....and I am not complaining nor blaming anyone else. I appreciate what I do have. |

The national anthem has nothing to do with their stated causes.
I don't think anybody is saying not to protest, just put that garbage aside for a few minutes and show some respect when the national anthem is played.
Also, I don't believe Kaepernick had some greater cause in mind when he first began sitting the bench. I watched the videos of him back then and I remember thinking that he was just pouting and his "I do what I want" attitude was on display because someone told him to do something (stand for the national anthem). Someone took notice and he had to come up with something to say that sounded good so he went with that. His bad attitude is probably why he's unemployed right now. I have seen the NFL look the other way for a player's heinous behavior, but they will show you the door if your attitude causes problems with the coaching staff or in the locker room. |

Havard declared, “This is a state-funded sporting event–or subsidized
sporting event, not fully by the state, but it is, so we have all the
right to defund that.” He continued, “I totally agree with their
right to protest and I think it just needs to be done somewhere else.
They can do it in the streets, they can do it on Sunday mornings…
They can do it wherever they want, but not during our National
Anthem. I think it’s disgraceful.”
As reported by an article in Forbes magazine, Tom Benson
the owner of the New Orleans Saints is set to make close to $400
million through 2025 thanks to state taxpayer dollars. As I see it,
why should they be allowed to disrespect not only the flag, but
the American people, police officers, the military, and first
responders who risk their lives everyday to keep us safe?
However, there does seem to be some hope because Rep.
Valerie Hodges has recently asked for for a review of the
team’s state benefits.

Forbes revealed that, “The state will pay Benson at least $198
million in increased revenue from the Superdome, $142 million
in rental payments on property Benson owns, $10 million in
bonuses for bringing the Super Bowl to New Orleans and $2.6
million in tax breaks. Benson will get another $40 million from
private rent payments to a tower he bought as part of the deal.”

One thing people don’t realize is the NFL currently gets over a billion dollars in taxpayer-funded federal subsidies. The fancy stadiums that these entitled players continue to kneel and disrespect our country in were bought and funded by the American tax payer, where we’ve foot the bill for 20 NFL stadiums since 1997.
Over the past 20 years, the American people have spent spent a whopping $7 billion to renovate or build NFL stadiums, providing 46% of the total costs of these fancy stadiums. But all that could soon change after what Congress just announced. In the U.S. Senate, there is a bill currently being reviewed that would BAN the use of federal money for the construction and financing of professional sports arenas. Conservative Fighters reports:

my husband sure does, but the problem is most of the liberals that are causing a lot of the countries grief also don't believe in gun ownership. So unless they convince the military to back them, what are they going to do? Throw a shoe? If it was Hillary I would still say yes to the Civil War but it would be us and the military against an over grown government. |
