Troy's fb says that shes in pretty rough shape, broken knee, all ribs broken, broken breastplate, head beat up really bad.. Doing lots of surgery on her hip and leg, shes got a rod threw one of them.. Needs lots and lots of prayers |

Update on Martee Pruitt. They are going to operate on her hip on Sunday. She told me to tell everyone, thanks for the support. They want to let the some swelling and bleeding in the hip die down before they operate. Plus the best surgeon for the job will be in on Sunday and it is going to be an extensive operation. She will be in good hands. Thanks again everyone.

Thank you everyone for the positive thoughts and prayers surrounding me. I am feeling better. I decided to try to explain. I had gone to town to get supper. Troy had just left for Colorado Springs for a judging school. Riley and Jenna left for Colo for a funeral so I was on my own. I was coming south on the 3 miles of bumpy dirt so I wasn't driving fast. The next thing I knew I had blood running down my face and there were a couple of firemen asking me if I was ok? I said what happened and they said they were trying to cut me out. Then I was in the ambulance and they cutting my clothes off. They kept saying what is Troys number? I couldn't remember - my phone was crushed and I was cold and hurting. I think I did a bit of screaming and crying and said call Troy Off to the er The next time I woke up my mom and dad were there. I was twisted laying to the left and in lots of pain. I kept saying please move me and help. My dad said here's Troy and held the phone to me. Troy said how are you? I said they won't help me. He said he was coming The doctor said they were waiting for a jet to fly me to Denver. I think I had left for town about 5maybe and it is now dark. Ended up getting to Denver 1-2ish am I have never had so much pain and was pretty scared I was not able to move my legs. Now I can fill in what happened. Apparently I was driving south on the dirt road in my little Hyundai and a person that lived off the road a ways came flying down her road and didn't see me and turned back right into me in a bigger Dodge Durango which ran into me and kind of on top of me and crushed my car. Just from seeing the pics Riley took. She got out and saw I was knocked out and went and called 911. Ok back at Loveland now at 2:30 they did the first surgery. They had to put a rod drilled through my leg to keep it pulled in line. It was strapped to a couple of sandbag weights to keep it stretched down. My butt under the right side is in lots of pain. I broke my breastplate and most of my top ribs on both sides. Plus my kneecap, is broken So Sunday I had the second surgery. I guess this is the best way to explain it. My head went through and kind of stuck in thr glass. There is a pic of my hair stuck there and I don't have bangs anymore. My breastplate and broken ribs on both sides. My hip rod got pushed through the hip socket which has broken parts on it. The ball on the rod part has a couple of pieces broke off of it and the rod is in a couple of parts So I have a cut about a foot long or more on the back of my butt and leg. They had to try to wire and screw the ball together and then screw it the rod and then plate and wire the whole thing together. They thought the whole thing would take one and part of an hour together. It took almost three hours. The doctor said in about ten years when enough bone builds up then I will probably need a hip replacement. I am starting therapy and will remain here for a few more days then I will released to a hospital acute therapy center for maybe 10 days. There is one here but also one in scottsbluff we are hoping to get accepted into. That will probably happen Thursday or Friday. Then home I hope and in a wheelchair for a couple more months. I might be riding by next summer and will have to relearn how. I was planning on taking a couple of my horses-jdawg,Stutz,smokey,and my four year old to Texas for a few weeks, run them,and sell for a lot. (I can dream)! Now I guess I will get an ad made and take a bit of a loss. I am also going to sell my nice little goat herd. Troy has enough to do. I have three little piggies ready to go next week. Two sold and one boy left. Then in a month two little girls will be ready and two more weeks two girls and a boy. Nothing else bred. I guess that is it for now - better get to sleep because they will work me hard again tomorrow! I have had some visitors but I scared them pretty bad. Carla Sturgeon,Jill Lupher,Miles Jena Garwood,Cleonne Steinmiller, Teresa Dudden,JC Dickens. Thanks for coming-you cheered up Troy Pruitt. I will be fine this just wasn't the way I was planning on spending the winter and spring My car is going to have to be replaced but that can be done I am happy to be alive. Thank you Troy for spending every moment with me. Thanks to Riley and Jenna Waggoner Pruitt for doing our chores and holding down the fort and coming to visit bringing re-supplies ??. Thanks for all the good wishes and prayers. I am here because of them and all the great doctors and nurses. I am editing my post at midnight. I think Troy helped me more tonight then ever and this place better pay him for the night

I have the best husband in the world and he has had to do some things for me I would have never wished on anyone?? Anyway I am in limbo now for a few days. I hope Martee doesn't mind but this is what she posted recently ....

"You all are so amazing. Troy and I are just flat humbled by all the amazing things that have been donated and by everyone bidding. Thank you all so much. I am feeling much better. 3 hours a day of therapy now is kicking my butt. But the good news is I have been working as hard as I can. My left leg is going to be huge with all the work it does ??. It looks like I am going to be able to go home in a few days and then I will start home therapy. We pulled four more pieces of glass out of my forehead today. They said there will be more. I am just a huge black and blue bruise. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts. We love you all"

Troy is going home tonight to get the hospital bed set up. He got the wheelchair and walker ready today. He bought the reacher stick which I have had to practice with and also the leg lifter which I am getting pretty good with. They did two hours of testing with me this morning and now should be having my conference right now.
Yes. I get out of hospital jail tomorrow. They will have a doctor, pt, and ot come to our house Thursday to make sure it is set up right. And yes. I guess about the only thing I can do is bead so hopefully I will get lots beaded |

Location: western Nebraska | Thank you all for your prayers and good thoughts. I am at home now and having home visits from the local hospital staff Just being home has helped my attitude so much. I am supposed to be in the wheelchair for 4 months and then hopefully I will be able to put weight on my leg. I will be reminded of this wreck forever- I have a pretty good scar on my forehead but I have a huge scar on my eyelid up through my eyebrow that they had to stitch. I have a really hard time putting my contact on that eye
Anyway we are off to see the surgeon today to take the staples out of my knee and hip It will be interesting to see how many in my hip and butt because it is over a foot long. ??

I am at home now and having home visits from the local hospital staff Just being home has helped my attitude so much. I am supposed to be in the wheelchair for 4 months and then hopefully I will be able to put weight on my leg.
