| Wondering why we are not seeing more of his babies in the barrel pen? Especially bred the way he is. |

Location: Wonderful Wyoming | I can't think of another Strawfly Special that was a big barrel winner. Sixarun sired some barrel horses and was a broodmare sire of some, but even though I love Strawfly Special you just don't see them in the arena. |

| My Desirio is headed to the barrel pen, just hasn't gotten there yet! I'm waiting until he's 5 to enter, just in case he would jump up and do well enough that I want to enter some of the 5 year old futurities.
I think that a lot of times stud fees dissuade people from breeding to stallions, especially ones that aren't already proven in the arena. His yearlings seemed to sell well at Heritage Place this year, but even though they weren't the top end sellers, they were still more than most barrel racers are willing to pay for one that hasn't been proven in the arena. Also, I just don't think there are a lot of them out there. I keep my eyes open, and only see a handful each year.

My Strawflyin Buds daughter was a hellacious barrel horse but, I agree, its not exactly designer bloodlines people look for. I, personally, will look for SS in pedigrees now because of her, but I don't think there's a huge market for people specifically wanting it. It's not the flavor of the week per se. Also, I would rather see it on the bottom side than the top, which would lean me toward finding other daughters versus breeding to a son. |

Yes we love him. He was stunning to look at as were his offspring. My husband has always wanted a daughter, but I think we may look for something by a more popular stallion and out of a SS daughter. SS was a very proven broodmare sire. |

 Can You Hear Me Now?
Location: When you hit the middle of nowhere .. Keep driving | I have two mares out of own daughters of strawfly special and out of big name studs. I prefer it on the bottom as IMO he's a broodmare sire... I've wanted a daughter for years but the stars haven't aligned.
Desirio is a nice looking son of a gun though just personal preference. |

Location: Royal J Performance Horses, AZ | I saw Desirio in person in november of 2015 i believe it was and I LOVED how he was put together.
I'm also blessed to say i own a nice daughter of his Desaria who ran AAAT and won over $35,000
I was hoping to ride her when i got her but she was not 100% sound and i'd rather not mess with it. So she became a broodmare and i've been SUPER impressed with her foals. Not just conformation... Disposition wise her babies are always so chill and level headed but theyre also BIG movers and super catty!
First picture is Desaria 2nd is her first filly by Sweet First Down, 2nd is her 2017 filly by Streaking Ta Fame, and currently she's in foal to jesses double dee. Decided to try something not race bred on this one ;)

Location: Royal J Performance Horses, AZ | I also wanted to say I agree with the above, He's a super ncie horse, but his fee is out of reach or just not appealing because of the lack of arena performers he has. i ALSO noticed and correct me if im wrong. He's no longer paid into future fortunes. He's not on the FF website any more anyway. But his ads still advertise it. |
