Griz - 2017-10-19 5:49 AM What on EARTH is on that guy's hat?? I'm guessing it's a helmet made to look like a cowboy hat?? It looks like a baseball bat weight to me.
Yup, it's the new hat/helmet
They are $249 I wear a plain old helmet, I have familiar tremors, hands shake, no knocks to the head for me. I don’t want to chance anything that could make it worse.

Really did not look at the cover but a lot of people around here wear Resistol western helmets. Very nice looking. (for a helmet) I think they are $265 at Joseys

Super Butt Ugly.
When Jake Barnes got hurt, Resistol designed it for him. Way too big and it got in the way of his rope. A plain helmet looks 100% better and is more functional.

This is not a new concept. A hat/helmet combo was introduced back in the early 2000s by Troxel. It was a flop so they discontinued it. They instead moved toward a hemlet cover designed to fit over an existing helmet. This is still availkable for sale today but is not advertised. Resistol is not the first to do this. But they are the first to get their concept on a rodeo athlete at a high level. Too bad it was a flop as well...

I've seen helmets that look like cowboy hats before but THIS looks like a cowboy hat with a black donut on top of it! It looks ridiculous!

That's what I thought! Looked like he wrapped a thick belt around his cowboy hat. . . .

I was on a 4 month waiting list when they first were introduced. The advertising photos made them look quite attractive and not so bulky. I got mine in, and let's just say that was a year ago in May and its still in the box. I look like Gizooo the Alien on Fred Flintstone for all you ol timers out there.

streakysox - 2017-10-22 11:47 AM I don't think they look quite as ridiculous as the congresswoman that has a different color cowboy hat for every outfit.
I don't know about that. It's kind of a toss up..LOL
