Location: South Georgia | My head measures 22 1/8, which says it should be a Medium in the Fallon helmets. The chart says up to 22 1/4 is a Medium, and above that is a Large. I don't want it to be uncomfortably tight, so I'm on the fence. Thoughts? I have never worn one before. |

Location: Louisiana | I'm assuming they have an adjustment dial like many helmets. So it should somewhat adjust for the size range. If you go to a large, I would think it wouldn't be tight enough.

Location: South Georgia | Hmm, I'm wondering too if there is a rim of padding inside the helmet that isnt accounted for in the sizing guide. I'm afriad Medium would be too tight, and Large too loose. LOL |

The Fallon's have the dial fit which makes it more adjustable for sure, but it may or may not 'feel' good sitting on your head. Troxel also has different styles and they will all fit differently, or 'feel' different. Some people like the Fallon's but not the way they fit so they might try the Liberty by Troxel and it might feel/fit better. Hope that makes sense! And - so happy you're thinking about wearing a helmet!!  |

Totally agree about the "feel"...I haven't bought a helmet but I have tried a few on recently. I'm still on the fence about buying one. I've only tried the RideSafe hat helmet which felt horrible, like it was perched on top of my head, and a tipperary that fit pretty good.
On one hand I love the designs of Fallon's, on the other, I could never choose just one. |

Location: North Dakota | 22- 22 3/4 is a Medium. I had to go check cause I was pretty sure my head measured 22 1/2 and I ordered a medium and it fit me just fine. It was loose on my head when first putting it on but the dial made it fit perfectly. |

| You want it to be snug when you try it on - the padding will compress a bit over time and “comfortable” can quickly become too big.
When you try it on unbuckled you should be able to shake your head pretty aggressively side to side and the helmet should not move. When you raise your eyebrows the helmet should move. Ideally you should be able to bend over pretty far before the helmet comes off.
These standards were how our Charles Owen rep fit helmets for our college team.
Different brands have different shapes - don’t get caught up in a “pretty” design and sacrifice poor fit for fashion. Also consider the affordability of replacing the helmet if you do fall and hit your head. There should be zero hesitation in getting a replacement in the situation. |

I wish I had a place within 2 hours to go to try some on. I don't, unfortunately. My best bet is to find a place that will allow returns/exchanges. |

Location: Under The Big Sky Of Texas | Not all helmets will fit the same shape head, I know that some helmets will fit a oval shape head better then others and some are more for the square shape, they are like shopping for a western hat, you need to go for the one that will fit your shape of head.. I would find out what shape of head the helmets that you are looking at will fit better. |

| I wear a 7 1/4 in a western hat, and I wear a large in Fallon's helmet. I have 3 of them (color freak) and love the fit. The tightening device in back gives the fit that allows you to focus on your run. I've noticed that the chin strap does not even have to be that tight.
In the past, I wore hats with stampede strings and still was haunted with that "blowing off" feeling during a run. Fallon's helmets are such a better fit and feel!! |
