I have heard that interest paid on a living quarters trailer can be written off as either a 2nd home or primary residence. any insight on this?

thanks

I’m not sure about a primary residence? But I do know if you own a home, then you can claim a LQ horse trailer or camper or even a boat as a secondary home as long as it’s self contained and has a bathroom. We did it with ours.

SKM is right. The key is that it has to have a bathroom.

Yes, we write off the interest we pay each year on our LQ. It has to have a bathroom for sure (and a full kitchen I believe). We write it off as a vacation home.
