Does anyone on BHW all questions just to ask them and to get a conversation going? Maybe asking a broad question just to get people's minds going?
If you don't, do you think these types of questions are annoying and out of place?

Not speaking about any particular person but as a society as a whole --
People don't want to think any more. Our culture has become one of reaction.
I know what you're asking, and I love it personally. But I've played 'devils advocate' on many threads and discussions in my real life, even when I either don't agree or don't have an opinion with the specific view point I bring up, just to try to get people to see that there is more than one side to any issue. Doesn't get me brownie points or most popular girl awards ever, and sometimes the feathers fly quite a bit, but people need to stop reacting and over-reacting to every little (or big) thing and think first.

I have asked questions to get a convo going because I am genuinely interested in everyones thoughts on certain topics. I have gained a lot of knowledge and perspective because of it.

I've asked questions. Some get good responses, and some don't. BHW sure isn't what it used to be when I discovered it. Many have left, some due to too much drama, some for lack of interest, and some just don't have the time. Anymore the topics stay on the front page of BHW for several days. It used to be that they wouldn't stay there for a couple hours. People just don't want to talk anymore I guess.
