Location: Pacific Northwest | I have a 60ft round pen. If I want to just have like 3-4 inches of sand how do I figure out how many truck loads (the big ones) I would need? This isn't meant to be anything fancy. Just something to help it be not so slick during the winter. |

34-35 yards should work just fine. Order two 18 wheelers and that should give you the coverage you want.

Location: Mountains of VA | I recently called our local quarry and gave them the measurements, 100' X 200', and told them I wanted to add 4" of sand..........came out to 350 tons! That sounds like a lot of sand to me. Just the cost of sand will be $5800 plus $1360 in hauling that is using quad load trucks!!! Needless to say, I am still in shock.
My ring has a good base but is not very deep and I would like to add the sand to help the horses get used to working in deeper footing since most of the barrel pens here are extremely deep, too deep in my opinion. However, I think I will keep hauling off the farm to work horses plus keep up with the work I'm doing here with them instead of spending that much money.

I only spent $3200 for 350 T delivered for the same size of arena. I think you should have been able to work them down at least a bit. |

Yea unless you are quite a few miles from them, The amount of sand sounds right but price is a bit steeper than I remember BUT I live 20 minutes from the beaches so maybe its an easier find around here?
