How many of you work a second job to help pay for your horses? What do you do? My cows usually supplement my habit but with prices down and some huge vet bills this year it’s pretty tight.
I really hate this adulting crap! ??

I have an office job by day.  My co-worker and I were both looking for 2nd jobs so we talked our boss into giving us the office cleaning job after our normal hours.

I'm a HS teacher.  I am an equine massage therapist on the side.  Winter is slow around here, so it works out.

The plan for 2018 is to help our local NBHA director with all of her shows. She runs 3 different series plus open added money shows throughout the year.
It should cover my fees and fuel for 2 horses. And I don't plan on entering them all, so the rest I plan to save and put towards NFR 2018.

I am a HS teacher to and I teach our saturday school once or twice a month. Pays 250.00/ day for Saturday school so that 500 a month covers my horse feed. I also coach tennis here on campus and that adds an extra 7K annually.

I give lessons on the side =] I highly recommend kids group lessons! I didn't even know there was this much demand for them...and I have not done any advertising! The moms just keep telling other moms, so my group keeps growing! =]

I teach HS also and teach online as a second job. Pays for all my horsey stuff. 135 to 150 per student per course. Many states have online schools. In my high school alone 10 teachers work for this same online course provider part time.

I've been looking into this too, as my day job pretty much handles the expenses, but I have had some extra expenditures this fall that have made things tight around here too (vet bills, etc.). I'm thinking about getting a seasonal job just for the holidays or doing something from home.

I got a weekend job at the local pumpkin patch for 2 months. Had to miss a couple races, but that's life. I can make around $100 a month on SwagBucks without much effort, but I have gotten pretty lazy with that. Some months when I remember to do it daily I can get $200-300 monthly. I either use it for gift cards places I shop or PayPal. You can give lessons, we get $35 an hour for basic beginner (walking, learning how to steer) lessons. I don't do it bc the barn owner requires me to get insurance and that's $500 a year that I just don't want to fork out up front

How much time per day were putting in when you were getting $200-$300?

nice! I only average 50-100 on a good month with swagbucks, unless I'm buying a lot online ha.

I worked at Starbucks for about a year- it wasn't a bad gig and I always worked 5:30- close so I got a TON of sandwiches and food and coffee, which was a blessing because I was BROKE.   If I was ever in a position that required it I would go back!

I did too, but then I felt uncomfortable answering so many personal questions, like my birthday. I worry about identity theft. I did research online however, and it seems to be one of the better survey companies. May have to sign up again

Swagbucks is kind of time consuming, but I have a desk job and so I can play the videos and stuff in the background on my computer while I'm doing work. I set Swagbucks as my main search engine too, I searched something earlier today and got 22 SB just doing that. If you refer friends, you get 10% of their SB earnings after they sign up. So that helps too, I have added my referral link at the bottom of this post if anyone else wants to sign up. I figured out I can run things on up to 2 different tabs and get credit, so I often have videos paying on all 3. I can typically get between 50-100SB a day just running those during the 8 hours I'm at work. I do a lot of surveys too. I do at least one per day. Plus there's often easy ways, like right now if you print 100 coupons each day you get 1SB per coupon. I figured out that once my printer screen comes up, I can hit cancel and it still says printed successfully and I get credited the next day. Don't even have to waste paper. I do use a lot of the coupons as well. The site was something I had to navigate around and learn about some tricks for a little while before I got efficient at it. I'm not a SwagBucks master by any means, but I can typically get 100-300 a day just doing a little bit at work. It's when I go home and sit and answer 15 surveys on a weekend that I get the higher payouts each month. Plus your first $25 gift card redeemed each month is always discounted, so instead of it being 2500SB its only 2200SB. Saves a little bit and I always get my gift cards within a couple days, PayPal takes closer to a week sometimes

You would get at the most $20 per hour for something like that in Oklahoma. Which $20 per hour sounds like a lot of money to some folks. Saturday school is not common here. Some districts would have that maybe a couple of times per year. Coaching doesn't pay like that either except at possibly a larger more lucrative area school.......still rare. More like $1500-3000 extra.
