Just go during the January thaw and break out the shorts! LOL  J/k

North face or Columbia have nice things that are thinner, yet warm.  Same with the stuff with the Spyder wear stuff.

All I can say is I pray for you  I spent an entire winter there a couple of years ago (from Cali) and it was one of the coldest and longest winters they have ever have. I am cold blooded so I struggled immensely. All I can say is layers - leggings, double socks, GLOVES AND EAR COVERS. I don't think it is one jacket more so than layers - thermal, sweat shirt, a couple jackets etc. I put hand warmers in my boots and in my gloves. I learned what winter blues were. However, if it is just a trip then I think you will enjoy it - beautiful place/different culture.

im gonna make a plug for a store you dont have in cali.  Rural King is offering a heated jacket.  since my daughter is a rural king queen she has me hooked on this coat.  its loose enough for a hoddie underneath, light enough if need be put a parka on over it.  they also have a vest version i believe.  so when ya get to ohio check out the nearest rural king store or they do online sales too.

What will you be doing?

If mostly inside something like a puffer coat would be fine if you’re just going from car to building etc. I have a cheap TekGear that cuts the wind and does the job.

If you’ll be outside then we love our carharts. I ride in my bibs regularly.
