Got an email from them and looked into quotes and it seemed like a super reasonable price! I am looking into getting full insurance on my mare, full mortality, surgery, colic etc (not necessairly loss of use although for the right pric I will) and it came up with just under $390 or something like that for $45,000 on my mare. Before I go through the next steps, I'm wondering who everyone uses and has had sucess with and most bang for your buck. I have a few others I would like covered and not necessairly everything covered for them but if there's a package deal of somekind or one that covers diagnostic tests if I were to ever need that, I am all ears! Trying to save from future headache down the road :)

Ok, just did it again and it came up with $147 a month or $1760 for the year which isnt terrible, although when I did it on my phone it came up with the $390 so not sure what I did differently. Either way, I am still interested in any companies that can meet my needs.

For Full Mortality and Major Medical that isn't too bad of a price for that value of an animal. I don't know them as I don't write with them (I am an agent) but I can tell you that it is always worth reading the fine print on Equine Mortality policies. You should know exactly what losses will be covered (will there be coverage in transit, or for theft?) and what kind of limitations there may be on how medical will be paid- is it just surgical or will pre and post op treatment be covered, and lastly, what are you requirements when an accident, injury, or any issue arises? If you do ultimately decided to purchase Loss of Use- find out what percentage of value they will pay out and whether or not the carrier may require you to relinquish all ownership rights to the horse after payment is made.

If you would like, you can always email me, cwitters@stonebrakermcquary.com. I will gladly share all I know- regardless of if I offer you a quote or not :) I just think it's important to really know what you are paying for :)
