Location: Oregon | I am considering breeding this mare and I’m starting to look around at potential studs. It will likely not be this year due to financial reasons but this will be one for me to hopefully keep. I run barrels and breakaway on this mare and she can be a little hot so I’d be looking to cross her on something that’s good minded and a little more mellow, with some decent height to him (15.1ish or taller) and something that maybe wants to drag it’s ass a bit more. Given that description what comes to mind?

| Irish Pay (Paddys Irish Whiskey x Raise The Pay by Preferred Pay) is 15h and an all-around hand of a stud.
PG Dry Fire (Playgun x The Dry Look by Dry Doc) seems pretty tall. I haven't been able to find his height, but he is a really nice stallion. He is 20, so who knows if he will still be standing to the public in two years. |

Location: Oregon | Thanks for the response :) I’m 6”1’ and all legs so I’m hoping to maintain my mare’s height and hopefully not end up with something very short. My foot already drags on her when she gets real low.... hahahaha |

| Oh gosh! So you really need to maintain height
Smoke N Sparks (Dash for Perks x Crazy Daisy) is another nice stud that would cross well on your mare, but again, I am unsure his height.
Gotta Good Habit (Strawfly Special x First Femme by FDD) is 15.3h and is a jam up stud, he earned his Open Supreme Championship in the AQHA. He is another all-around nice stallion.

Location: Illinois | My 3 year old is by Six Moons Bully and holy cow have I been impressed with her. He's produced multiple 1D horses with his limited foal crop and the minds on these things!!! She's better behaved than my two senior geldings. She can sit for 3 months and then ride like a dream, even in this cold weather! No silliness and her siblings I've seen run are not hot at all. I think he'd be a good cross with your mare and wouldn't break the bank. He's 15.2h and my filly is 16h and her mom is 16.1h. I'm wanting to cross her on a DTF/frenchmans guy stud in a few years after I see what she can do, but if she's anything like her siblings she'll be 1D if I can ride her correctly lol. |

Someone just posted the other day in a thread that he would be the perfect cross to get a smaller foal
I haven't found his height yet, but I know he is on the shorter end... |

Will look into him, thank you. This is a mare that I raised and trained and I’m still getting with her but she has been in the 1D, top of the 2-D locally with some bobbles. This is her at a race here recently and she was a 15.0 and I only really kicked on the way home. She is super fast across the pen and can usually make up for mistakes at the barrels but I’m hoping for something that really wants to get on its hind end more.
She has turned out super nice and should maybe mention that this will be an embryo transfer baby. Which is why I will likely breed her in 2019 in order to save up and hopefully breed her to something really nice.

Yeah, I can see the cross you're envisioning. I really like the A Sharp Leo lines, they're good minded and sit around a barrel. However that's an old line and can be hard to find. They're also not usually tall unless bred to something tall. Not really sure what your best bet would be height wise, most of the tall one's I know are running bred and you don't really need more run lol |
