| If you find a "gimmick" that makes your horse work, then you better start looking for another one. |

"there are no problem horses, only problem riders".
That really helped my riding riding while growing up. |

Location: Wonderful Wyoming | Love all these. I don't have any that I can quote. One had something to do with-when you think you know too much to learn anymore from someone, you don't know anything. And something I learned watching so many trainers in TX-mostly cowhorse etc, I was talking with a man I really respected-Morgan Lippert and he mentioned that you can learn a lot from others, not always what to do, but often what not to do. |

| It doesn't matter what bit you use until you start riding right - Charmayne.
She told me this at a clinic many years ago when I asked what bit she would recommend for my horse, and it still pops into my head daily. Not necessarily limited to just bits, but everything I do falls back to the thought of, Am I riding correctly? That was definitely not what I wanted to hear, and I'll be honest, on that long drive home after the clinic I had decided I was finished running barrels. I was defeated and depressed. And then I decided that I wanted to be better, and I worked hard to learn to ride correctly. And I continue to work on it daily. |
