| For those who don't know my horse story (this year) I've had a good run of bad luck lately. I had my nice 4 year old up and coming horse pass away in the field unexpectedly in February. Shortly after, I bought a yearling filly (2 in july)...and she ended up kicking my main horse in the knee, giving him a carpel hygroma. He has been off now since April...operation, stall rest, pasture...and yesterday was my first ride back on him again!! I feel like a whole new person now =] I've been in such a funk, not being able to ride. I have not felt like myself, and I just feel a huge weight off my shoulders! I'm so so happy today =] This is the longest that I've ever NOT ridden before...I don't even think that I noticed how unhappy I was, until very recently. So glad to be back in the saddle, and I will be starting my filly under saddle in the next month or two. The ride went SO so well...My boy is for sure my one true heart horse. He acted like we never missed a day! Except that we only jogged a few minutes before he was pretty tired haha. We will be going very slowly for a while, but it just feels oh so good to be back up =] Sorry that this is a huge brag for a small step...But I don't really have horsey friends, so it's nice to tell people who understand <3 Thank you guys so much! |
