I totally agree!
It’s just funny to see a team roper who didn’t know a single horse before meeting me become so enamored, lol.
That little horse of Nellie Miller’s may be carving out a spot in his heart too, what a little beast. |

Location: Oklahoma | Lisa was one of the clinicians at the Saddle Up for Christ clinic that I attended in October. She is a true champion! I had to disagree with her on one of the topics she spoke on, though. About Louie, she said Louie was not a fast horse, it was his turns that gave him his fast times. Could have knocked me over with a feather! |

Location: Illinois | I think Louie is the best in the industry hands down. He may not be the fastest, but he is fast and his consistency is unparalleled. No other horse in the industry makes the same solid run and to me that makes the best barrel horse. I'd rather have one like him than a horse that hit or miss blows everyone away. |

They were similar teams, neither hauled hard and still made the NFR. They won money nearly everywhere they went. |

Deb Mohon’s horse Brown was the same way. He won Cheyenne 3 times, Denver more than once and she ran him 11 times at the NFR and never stepped on a back up horse! He’s still my favorite of all time, but Louie ranks up there pretty high too! |

I'm fairly new to the barrel horses, so I really only recognize the FAMOUS horses from years past; i pay attention when y'all talk about the other horses and their riders tho, so I'm learning! I'm ashamed to say this is the first year I've watched the whole NFR ( ), but I shall do better!!! I said all that to say this---I know between all of you there is a vast amount of memories and stories of great past (and present) horses, but Louie. . . . Well Louie is so consistent and smooth, like butter. . . . . He is something (sigh) |

I’m partial to Deb because she started me. She was a legend and took a snot nosed little red headed kid and a fat cow pony under her wing. I owe my entire career to her! Search Deb Mohon on your tube one day there are several of her and Brown. She retired him back in the 90s, but he had that Louie style... super honest EVERY DANG TIME! |

I'm gonna brush up on barrel horse history---I love learning about the bloodlines and riders and hearing the stories of the past. Maybe before tax season starts I can get online and check things out!

My team roper husband loves Louie too!! His boss picks them most years in his fantasy team haha He now watches the barrel racing with me and makes comments on the good and bad. Nellie's Sister is becoming one he likes too. |

| There were some nice horses at the NFR. Lisa will always be a favorite. Love to watch Cassie Mowry. I believe she has the quietest hands of anyone I have ever seen. I think that horse of Nellie Miller's is going to be one to watch fo in the future. Those Dash Ta Fame bloodlines are tough to beat anywhere you go. Shows the voracity of the bloodline. No wonder the horse was horse of the year. |
