...where do you look?

I have never ever in my life sold a horse as broodmare sound only (usually because I buy geldings.)

Everywhere and anywhere.  BWH, Dreamhorse, Facebook has a few good groups.

In all but one case I have followed the rule of buying in foal.  No better guarantee that the mare is breeding sound!

Mine have kind of fallen in my lap. I can't find what I want when I look anyway.

Many of mine have fallen in my lap, too. Two of them were injured mares that were never listed for sale, but I was approached and asked if I would be interested in them. Quite a few have come from Production sales.

KK thanks ya'll.  I've offered her to a few people locally but no interest really. I'll list her this weekend once I get a decent confo picture.

Anybody interested in a Colonel Freckles broodmare?

How’s the rest of her papers look? Age? Color? Any performing babies out of her yet?

Find mares that are already loaded with excellent well known and current barrel
and speed bloodlines and in foal to a stallion that adds more barrel and speed
lines to the foals pedigree.

The more stacked the barrel and speed genes are the more likely you will get
a foal with good barrel horse traits, characteristics, agility and the speed to
cut off the clock running home.
If you decide to sell the foal, it will be like getting a free mare and enough
money to breed to a very nice stallion for next years foal.

Finding infoal mares like this is difficult and will cost you 3-4 times vs a cheaper mare
bred to a non-descript stallion found at local sales or being sold by backyard
breeders.

Having 1-2-3 mares of quality is much better than having a huge feed bill with
6-7-8 mares.

Just be aware that cutters, reiners and such were bred to the same characteristics
in order to get the desired traits for years and years .........
so, have the same mind set and do the same with successful barrel and
speed lines when picking out your mares for future barrel event foals!!

GOOD LUCK !!
