I have a senior dog and a puppy. I currently feed Fromm. I'm wondering what GOOD brands of food I can get that's a higher fat/protein for my senior dog since he's starting to show his age, but I don't want to feed the puppy high fat. Any input ? Thanks

For a senior dog, you want to lower the protein as much as possible. Lower protein diets are better for their kidney health. It’s going to be hard to find one food that is both high in fat and low in protein. You might want to look into a supplement for the fat and stick with a lower protein food.

We feed Fromm's Gold to all of our dogs. We've been very pleased with the results. Fed the puppy formula for about 6 weeks and it was too rich for our Boston puppy so we switched her to the Gold and have no reason to change.

No way! I have been feeding Diamond bc I was told that it was pretty good. I have study and studied feeds on my horses but never on my dogs! So happy that RG makes dog food too, bc I didn't know what to switch too and I feel very confident to just switch to RG bc I know what they do for horses! Thank you Winwillows!!! I will be checking and praying this is in my area!

I recently started feeding salmon oil. I already feed a good food, but wanted it for the additional skin/coat benefits. It is also beneficial for inflammation/arthritis, weight management, immune support and brain function in older dogs along with many other things. Might be something to check out!
