Location: Never in one place long | My husband is deploying to the Middle East again the day after Christmas.. I would like to send him along a care package but I don't have many ideas what I'd send! I'm thinking some pictures, books, lip balm ??? I don't really know what else... there are obviously no stores or restaurants there so gift cards are out and he's not a heavy reader and doesn't like cross words etc... Any ideas? I am also going to include a few letters for him to open..
He's not a guy who really likes "stuff" he likes things that are useful.

| I got my dad a Lifestraw: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B006QF3TW4/ref=asc_df_B006QF3TW45307476/?t...
Also, maybe a really good pocket flashlight? Can you send food? Like maybe a few of his favorite snacks? Any magazines that he enjoys? Sun glasses, gloves, cards against humanity, a book of good dirty jokes...just a few ideas =] So sorry he is being deployed again. Hugs, xoxo |

Location: Not Where I Want to Be | if he's deploying again, I would assume he has been there before.
So ask him what he would need or want for his specific needs. |

Location: CTX | Anything you will send will be good! I used to send snacks, like nuts and popcorn, jerky, candy etc... Magazines, hand and or foot warmers, instant soups. Talcon powder is always handy when it gets hotter... TSC has "anti monkey butt powder" which works great. |

Location: Under The Big Sky Of Texas | Is this the first time being deployed? I would think he needs toothbrushes, deodorants, toothpaste, more underwear, socks, extra razer blades, snacks like a peanut mix and more snacks, books to read to help past the time, a Bible.. This is all very useful things.. Toenail clippers. A deck of cards, paper and pens.. |

| My husband did 20 years in the service....I just asked him what he would've liked to have when he was in the Middle East....and here is what he said.
"We had plenty of toiletries out there but I always appreciated ground coffee, gum, wet wipes, beef jerky and candy. " |

After reading this complete thread, this post makes the most sense.
ASK HIM WHAT HE WANTS OR NEEDS! Sorry for the caps, really they are necessary to get my point across. He knows more about his situation than anyone on an internet board does. |

Location: Under The Big Sky Of Texas | I agree since this is his 7th deployment ask him what he needs and wants so that you can go get it all packed up for him and send it.. and maybe get him a few surprises to pack along with his things that he would not expect to be getting... |

Take a friend along with you and go to VICTORIA'S SECRETS ....
and take some DIGITAL PHOTOS ...
Make sure he has some kind of ipad laptop etc that will take a
flash memory stick so he can view his gorgeous wife any time
he likes.
Do some happy family shots / videos on the same stick ...
In your future pkgs include new memory sticks of things that
are happening at home ... just watching you bake the cookies
you are sending him would be a very nice surprise .. |

I don't know if it's good to admit or not, but I was kinda on same page as BHUSA!!! I was thinking some naughty (semi-naughty) pics to find hidden in his package of more "business like" necessities!! |

Location: Somewhere between raising hell and Amazing Grace | Good luck getting a list from him!!! My husband won't ever give me a list of stuff he wants sent to him.
Some of my regular stuff to send are random love notes, happy notes, geeky little things to make him smile (stickers, novelties), hard candys, coffee, chocolates, gum, moisturizers, magazines (men style such as gun/hunting/etc)...... |
