Location: Montana | So, I do work full time and I'm happy at my job, but I want to hit some more races, out of town races, and rodeos this year and am looking for a supplemental/side income so I can afford the extra entry fees, costs, fuel, etc. I've considered getting a part time job, but because of my current hours and then additional hours, I would have no time to ride horses and keep them in shape. So, what do you do or how do you make extra money? |

| I train and sell ponies on the side. Pretty easy and can fit time in for them in between my big horses. I use them a lot while working my colts and while we are roping so they get a lot of experience doing different things.
Before I had a family, I bartended at a wedding/party venue and made a lot of money that way. It was only on the weekends, but could make $200-500 a weekend.
You could try cleaning houses too. I am OCD and like to clean so if I had the time I would totally do this! Word of mouth can get this business going fast!

| I sell clothes on Poshmark. It's an app where you create a virtual closet with items you wish to sell, take pictures, create listings and wait for people to buy! The buyer can offer reduced amounts on your items, or buy them for the price you list them at, and the buyer pays for flat rate 2-3 day shipping. Poshmark takes 20% of your profit, but they send you the label and you just get free Priority envelopes and boxes from the post office. Last year I made over $1500, and it works out great with my crazy work schedule. Plus you have up to 3 days to ship your item once someone buys it. Almost like eBay, but no bidding. I just keep all the clothes I have listed separate from the clothes I wear, and once you get things listed it's pretty darn easy. I have a lot of clothes that I've never worn or worn 1-2 times that I have listed.
Downside: you find a LOT of things you want to buy.

Location: Montana | Thanks for all the good replies and interesting ideas.
I'd love to take in an outside horse to train, but I board at a friend's place, so I'm not sure she would want me to bring in another, especially an outside horse.
Irunonfaith, you have some very inventive ideas! Thank you for sharing them.

| I've been strapped for cash lately AND I'm a bit of a hoarder, so I've been going through the house cleaning out all of my closets... I've listed a ton of "junk" on ebay and sold lots of clothes on facebook. I've easily brought in an extra $1000 since December 1. I'm sure I'll get to a point where I run out of stuff to get rid of, but it's been fun for the time being! |

I for SURE don't do ALL of this every day. But it's very fun to switch things up. My little one goes to bed around 8:30 every night so from 8:30 to about 10 or 11 I work on projects for people. |

Location: Louisiana | This year I started helping a local producer with her shows. Last Fridays was the first, and I have another tomorrow.
I handled all the entries for the different classes/memberships/ect. Double checking and highlighting things for her.
She inputs everything into the computer...my job is for her to able to assume everything is correct on the forms I give her.
Then when the show starts up I announce and hand write times while she puts times in the computer and works on payout.
When payout is figured, we work on getting money sorted out and ready for envelopes.
I was at the arena for a total of 6 hours and made $75 cash with around 60 entries. She told me more entries = more work = more $$$.
Does your local producer need help? She also pays barrel and gate workers - enough to enter one horse! |

Actually, this last year I produced a barrel racing series, LOL. Not sure I'm going to do that again, mostly because of lack of venues/arenas in our area, so I'm thinking about just focussing on my horses. But I could ask the other producer in my area and see if she's needing any help! That's a great idea. Did you get to run your own horse(s) as well? |

| I've never EVER been a fan of network marketing as a way to make money, but about a week ago my neighbor came over to ride and told me about a company his wife had joined. She'd made $11,000 in 3.5 weeks!! Of course it seemed to good to be true, but I decided I would regret not finding out more. Turns out I had never heard of this company, and they have a legit deal going on that I couldn't say no to. It's a nutraceutical/supplement company, but the ingredients are actually keto/paleo/GF (non-existent in this market until now!!) so it's something I already believe in and easy to market. |

I save my giftcards from swagbucks and was able to buy all my books for school last year and have $200 to spend for Christmas :) You can make a lot more $ if you put more effort into it, but I don't. I just get my points when I buy things online, from surveys when I'm bored, and from playing ads on my phone sometimes while I sleep. You can also print coupons from the site for the grocery store and get points that way.

My horses are out of shape, but if I had entered, I would make sure someone could fill in for a few minutes.
She told me I can get free exhibitions bc that money doesn't go in the pot. Which helps too, I have a colt to start bringing with me.
My mom and the producer are good friends, so I would just convince her to come announce for a few minutes while I run. The main thing is I have it covered BEFORE the barrel race, but no, she doesn't mind at all if I enter! |

Yep! I save my ibotta and receipt hog money and use it for my horse supplements :) I think there is a waiting list for receipt hog now. There's another app called checkout 51 and one for alcohol called beverage. I don't earn as much on those though. |

I downloaded the Ibotta app last night...anxious to see what it does. I'm already a member of swagbucks, but haven't had much chance to devote to it yet. Still looking at all the other suggestions too. |

I love Poshmark! I spend waaaayyy to much time on there but have bought some really cute clothes cheap. Now that its almost rodeo time again I have to ban myself from Poshmark and Ebay.... |

| Maybe something seasonal?
I've been working weekends at our local ski resort in the snack bar. Its only from mid-December through February and I can't do much riding anyhow this time of the year so I figured why not try to make some extra money. It does not pay much but after the 10 week season I should have about $1000 put away. It's not a lot but that will get my season started! I do have to say though it's exhausting! I go non-stop for 6 hours and by the time I'm done my feet are killing me! |

| I’m thinking about starting a small tack cleaning venture. I reached out on a few local groups about it and got a good response. I also plan to go to a tack swap in a few weeks and see how many distressed old headstalls I can find for cheap cheap, clean and resell. |

Location: Buffalo, Wyoming | I work full time at a sale barn as the Office Manager. The old owner does country sales that I help clerk throughout the year. We do 2-3 a year at about $250 a pop.
We also have a small snowplowing business. We have 3-4 bigger accounts plus some smaller driveways. This week my husband was out of town so I was on my own plowing. Started at 4:30 so I could get to my regular job on time. I haven't ridden since October but I figure if I can get some money put away so I can go a little more this year it doesn't matter.
My husband has also been a hay broker for many years, this year I took it over. It is a bit of an investment at first but come spring I hope to have enough to buy me a broke prospect. I also hope to carry hay all year long to keep some money flowing in. That is something we have never done so I hope it turns out good.
I could also take in some outside horses but it has been so cold, even though we have an indoor that I do not want to ride right now. |
