| You can do a membership online.
First of the year for transfers are tough. You can always call and check the status.
Typically, I give 30 days, then call. I had one lost in the mail and they had to reissue, surprisingly they were pretty efficient. |

Location: The best kept secret in TX | January is when they send every memeber "It's your time to renew" so a lot of people go ahead and renew. I got a renewal letter in the mail but my membership is good through the end of this year I believe so I will wait. Transfers take a while depending ont he circumstances. 1Ds comment is very true as well LOL |

| Hahaha thats funny! I hope it doesnt take to long. One of them I'm entering in derbys in May! I just wanted to know so I could give them a fair chance before I start calling lol. There was special handling box I could of checked. I just assume they would get it done in a timely manner. Guess if I don't get them back I won't be entering lol |

| I sent it Monday. I know it wouldn't be done yet. Just wondering much time I should allow. |

| Well, my transfer papers were the "old version", so I was short $5 (because that paper said it was $15, but it's actually $20 now) and the AQHA let me know that very quickly (I think three days after I sent my paperwork in), so I paid over the phone and got the new papers with my name in the mail four days later. That was last fall, so maybe they weren't very busy at that time. |

| Most of the turnaround time is due to two things ..
Slow USPS mail service to and from AQHA and incomplete or an error on your
paperwork.
If you ask for DNA that involves a hair kit sent to you and then to
UA at Davis Ca and a postcard returned to AQHA to let them know the DNA hair
has been sent. In this case, if you move quickly on your end and count up 6-7
days lag time for each mailing .. 6 weeks is the norm to receive your registration
papers.
Busy time for AQHA starts in September with new foals being registered and then
stallion breeding reports become due by all the slackers that refuse to use AQHA
ONLINE to do these two items creates a snowball of manual work to be done by
AQHA staffers.
Registering foals online is a very quick procedure if you fill it in correctly and
the correct 5 pictures ... do the DNA hair pull asap, and two weeks later my
babies have their papers ..
Then the professional procrastinators hear the bells of the New Year ringing
and send in all of their stuff all at one time ... or laggards wait till the
last moment to update paperwork and create another log jam .. lol
Most of the dissing of AQHA come from those that have never read the AQHA
RULE BOOK OR FAILED TO FOLLOW THEIR SIMPLE PAPERWORK PROCEDURES.
GOOD LUCK ..
